    Big Bird worked?

a friend and I were talking about puppets and puppetry and we both wondered how Big Bird worked... we knew there was someone in there, but how did they work both hands and the eyes and mouth.... like this...

In addition to Big Bird's personality and intellect, Spinney also has to contend with the sheer mechanics of working a life-size puppet. His right hand reaches up into Big Bird's head, operating the mouth and eyes, while his left hand serves as the bird's left hand (a string next to his right hand allows the puppeteer to move the bird's passive right arm).

Wearing what he calls an 'electronic bra" (which holds a small TV monitor and wireless microphone), Spinney moves about the set in carefully choreographed movements.

What I want to know is when is Cookie Monster ever going to get a crumb of his cookies down his throat. Now I watched SS growing up and now my daughter watches it religiously every morning and for the life of me I cannot figure out how Cookie Monster doesn't starve. He is always veggin' for some cookies (I think he does pot, but that's for another thread) and when he finally convinces himself to eat his cookie, he always rips it up and eventually slings most of the crumbs to the ground. C'mon CM...get with the program...if you think the cookies you've been eating are great, wait till you actually get a few crumbs to hang around your tongue for a while...you'll really start seeing the silhouetted rainbow colors after that. Jeesh...

    :D

On a side note ....I have been wondering lately how Yao Ming works. Id think the puppeteers have to be pretty skinny to fit inside of him. Heh heh heh. :p

I do believe he is the same mduke, but I didn't find any bashing over there... if anything I read a post about how cc.net is the biggest Rockets site out here on the net.... now there's a guy over there at bb.net named Tom that seems to have a real problem with cc.net... he's on my ignore list over there...
