is it just me, or have they OVERDONE Earth Day this year?

I ignore this day on my daily calender just like "Secretary Day" or something nonsense.

I swear I haven't notice all this publicity for it in the past 10 years, I remember 104 KRBE have an Earth Day festival with Jimmy Ray and Billie Myers which was like 10 years ago, and thats about it.

 

We are absolutely raping our natural resources on this planet.
No one hardly recycles.
We throw styrofoam, plastics, and many other items that have half lives of thousands of years in the trash and don't think twice.

Once our resources become hard to come by and the price sky rockets, or worse, we run out of something, then maybe, just maybe you will want someone to shove the "green idea" down your throat. But of course, you don't want to be bothered by any good ideas such as "Earth Day".......

 

I think it's great that they are pushing "green" and environmentalism on Earth Day. It might be cheesy at times, but it's a worthy cause. I live in Seattle, and recycling is a way of life here. I love that and wish it was part of everyone's life on a daily basis. We should all be thinking about the little things we can do to help the environment, and I cheer when sports are on that bandwagon. Hopefully one day everyone will think it's cool to be green.

 

funny, me and my biology teacher were talking about this, and she was telling me how in our lifetime we're gonna run out of one of our natural resources such as oil. She said that the government and media use Earth Day and other events as a publicity stunt to make us feel as if there is hope but currently no one knows what will happen when we run out of oil and there isn't any research being done on it.

And it is amazing. Oil WILL RUN OUT. I have heard that some speculators say there is more than 100 years of it left even with the current usage.

Who knows......it shall be an interesting day when the oil is gone. EVERYTHING we use is somehow related to oil. Everything.
