Just to add to the Olajuwon Muslim thing, he has always said God instead of Allah. I remember way back when he would say God. I just assumed since Allah/God is the same entity that he either learned it as God, or was using the English/American name.

Just to be super clear, from Hakeem's perspective, God is another word for Allah and not vice-versa.

There is no problem between Les and Bill. Bill did not forcefully take the mic from Les.

This thread is like the one about players supposedly ignoring Hakeem on the sideline... both threads are making something out of nothing.

Yeah. In fact, Christians and Jews alike in the Arabic-speaking world refer to God as "Allah" -- it's just the Arabic word for God. But because the Arabic language is important to Islam, "Allah" has become synonymous with it.

Also, for you Spanish-speakers out there, when you're saying "ojalá que...", you're not actually saying, "I hope that..." You're saying, "May Allah grant that..." It's just a little artifact in the language left over from the Moops in Spain.

Was that a typo or a Seinfeld reference?

Damn Nero, sorry to derail your thread.

But yes, I get it now guys, thanks. I guess I learned my lesson on asking for knowledge. I suppose from now on I should post like I know everything and never back down.

Anywho, back on topic......Les sucks at public speaking anyway. He always looks lost and confused. Bill should have never given the mic to Les to begin with.

Oh, no, I'm so sorry. It's the Moops. The correct answer is the Moops.

    That was awesome. :D

Worrell got him with the "Hey, what's that over there?" trick you use on 5-year olds, where they turn away and you steal a piece of the chocolate cake they're having.

If somehow one of Les Alexander's disturbing troll giggles were able to make it onto the video that would be the ultimate capper.

i think even more awkward is at the end,
after hakeem finishes his speech, he shakes bills hand, then les's..
and as bill continues to thank hakeem again
les looks disinterested with his hands in his pockets and kinda walks off before bill finishes....

    just an observation

Arabic can be Muslim, Christian, Jew or an athiest. It is the same as saying Hispanic or European.

Correction: Arab can be Muslim, Christian, Jew or Atheist. Arabic is the language.

I know that Muslims in Indonesia use both Allah and Tuhan to refer to God.
