Let's get real here. We talk about fab point guards and what they can do for their team and the game. Nash, Paul, Rose, Rondo, Westbrook, and Lin... problem is there's a guy in Miami Heat that's 6'8" 250+ that can do what they do and better as well as guard all 5 positions and not to mention be an unstoppable force in the post or on the perimeter on offense. Tmac was the closest thing to Lebron Houston ever had which brings up a point. Why tout a small guard to any degree of worth when he will always physically will come up short due to his size making him obselete? Look at Rose's Bulls they always seem to come up short even before his chronic injuries when they had to meet the Lebron's Cavaliers or Heat in the PlayOffs... We all know Rondo wasn't the perimeter star as much as he used Allen, Pierce, and KG to advance to the Finals. And Nash came up short quite a few times.. West Brook has the ability to play well above the rim which Lin won't ever attain. There's guys like Jabari Parker coming up that will cement the fact that the little tiny point guard is obselete...
Yeah totally, we should definitely have more Lebron's and Magic Johnsons in the league running team offenses than scrubs like Paul or Iverson who barely hit 6ft
Damn why can't Lin be 6'0 in shoes just like the last few PG's we had. Rats, he has to go and be 6'2-6'3. WTF?
Hey, bro, let go to the PG stats: Nash 6-3/187 Paul 6-0/175 Rose 6-3/190 Rondo 6-1/186 Westbrook 6-3/187 Lin 6-3/200 Lin is an excellent position here. Lin's problem is not the height but NBA play time. He is an excellent PG with strong potential. With time, he will achieve his height! Lebron plays a different position. You can not comparing apples and oranges.
Not everyone can be a Lebron James and not all PGs are suppose to be a 6'8 bulldozer. Lebron is a great athlete that can play multiple positions and he can handle the ball and distribute well. But he isn't a real PG that can be as effective at the point as Paul, Nash or Rondo. Every single NBA player is different. Jeremy Lin isn't the explosive powerful type PG like some of the others but Steve Nash also isn't either. There are many great PGs in the history of the NBA that does not play above the rim. Jeremy Lin is who he is and he's not going to try to change his game. He's successful at what he do.
