Lavar Arrington went to high school about 20 minutes from my house. He played running back, linebacker, and punter at North Hills High. In one game against my school, he rushed for like 300 yards. He was attempting a punt from his own endzone, the snap was bad so he took off for a 90+yard TD run. It was amazing.

This is kind of weird. I graduated with Ralph, and we still hang out on occasion. (We see each other 2-3 times a year.) Really cool guy, but is not involved in baseball at all anymore.

okay he's not famous yet. but look for him to go pro. Sparky Hamilton. I also have two friends who have a 3 handicap in golf at age 13. So look for them to become at least semi-pro

Heeeeeey!! He said famous people, but he listed Joseph Blair in his post. I figured we were bending the rules a bit. [IMG]

P.S. Etan, Wayman, and Amber(MTV, in case you didn't know), are kinda famous. Lee Mayberry was once a Rocket!(for like two minutes, but still..)

grummett, you went to Bellaire too?? When?

I played ball with Cruz Jr. and practiced in the offseason with Knoblauch. Jeff Devanan(sp?) had a breif stint last year with Minnesota. I remember Kelly Wunsch from my freshman year. Ralph Garr was in the Braves minor league system. There are at least 10-20 others during my 4 years there that did time in the minors.

SamCassell, I was also c/o '93 with sirhangover, like I see he already said.

BTW, referring back to the post about the girl in Playboy that I dated...she went to Bellaire too.

Craig James - of SMU, Pats, and CBS Sports fame

Clint Black - was in the skateboard club in high school..a little punk rocker

Kelly Emberg - first model married to Rod Stewart! [IMG]

Chuck Thomas - center for some of the 49er championship teams in the 80's

David Klingler - of UH fame...one of the nicest people you'll ever meet

One girl I graduated with is a writer on "Friends"..not exactly famous but sounds like fun!

Bart Enis -- old sportscaster for channel 2

Sherman Smith - great receiver for UH back in the run and shoot..typical for some run and shoot receivers, I think he owns some old SWC records.

Chris James -- played for Astros, Rangers and Phillies

and of course there's me...conservative jackass who posts on this message board on occasion.

In my ghetto community of Magna, country music group She-Daisy is the only thing resembling a celebrity, graduating from my alma mater, the beautiful [IMG] Cyprus High School.
