Do max contract players shoot .383? That is Harden's shooting average since iso-Beard-ball started. As durvasa said, Harden is almost there but not quite.
Yeah I heard this today and changed the station after. He only mentions Harden after bad games. Calls him a b player that has reached hos ceiling, and then does that annoying echo laugh.
I agree with him because right now, Harden is not a max player. But he could be in a few years. Here's what I think Harden needs to improve on: - Going right and scoring - More moves to the rim besides the euro-step - His DEFENSE But I think Harden's outside shooting is near max contract.
I don't know when this so-called "iso-beard-ball" you mentioned started, but according to ESPN, he is shooting .426 for the year. Not awesome, but not terrible. By reading this thread, you would think he is a bad shooter like Trevor Ariza chucking up bad jumpers all the time. Generally he has been very efficient, and I thing his percentages have been thrown off by a couple of bad games. I think he is still trying to figure out when to force it and when to defer, and he will get better. But he is already damn good.
For me, iso-Beard-ball started in game 3, when Lin began dumping the ball to Harden at mid-court on most possessions. If we exclude the first two games of the season, when Lin and Harden shared the playmaking pretty evenly, the Beard has been shooting .383 as I stated.
All starters are averaging double figure. I'm sticking with "iso-beard-ball", pretty effective it would seem.
That was a little ambiguous. Let me fix it... In the first two games of the season, Lin and Harden shared the playmaking pretty evenly. If we exclude the two exceptional games, the Beard has been shooting .383 as I stated.
But we're taling about Harden. What deserving max player with low assists shoots .383? Jason Kidd used to shoot like that, but he more than made up for it with great passing and defense. Harden isn't even close.
You can't just take out the first two games, it doesn't make any sense. Why don't you also take away the game where he was sick, or the games where he was adjusting to opponents, or shots that he had to take to beat the shot clock.
rookie journalist trying to get hits with a sensationalist topic Hey Antonio 'I barely even remember your career' Davis, Hollinger just had an article that said he was worthy of a max contract with a lot of fancy math and data to back it up soundly.
Antonio Davis is one of those guys that thinks players with flashy games and always on highlight reels are max contract players such as Amare but an efficient player that is a great scorer, unselfish, create for others, isn't that flashy and doesn't get into the highlight reels that much isn't a max...
