About a week ago, I was surfing the net, looking up the NBA, when my computer was "invaded" by pop-up p*rn ads. They took over my whole system, and every time I closed one, another two popped up. Now believe me, I like p*rn, but not when it takes over my computer like that. Anyway, I couldn't close the damn things down, and I had to unplug my computer. When I turned it on, everything was fine, except for one annoying problem: When I click on "internet options" under "tools" in Explorer, a message pops up saying the following: "Restrictionns: This operation has been cancelled to to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." Well, I am the sysem administrator. It's my fricking computer. I can access internet options through other methods, but it bothers me greatly that there is a restriction in effect on my own computer, and I can't fix it. What can be done about this? How do I edit "restrictions"? Is some p*rn-b*stard in control of my PC? Any help would be appreciated.
Never heard of this problem. Maybe you go on so many p*rn sites, the computer has gotten mixed up , so it thinks every site is a p*rn site.
This is a serious problem guys! Thanks for the "help"! The p*rn is not the problem. Not having full access to my own computer is the problem. Coma, I'm using Windows 98.
ZRB, You could try to remove IE and reinstall. Also check your startup folder and make sure there aren't any p*rn programs set to startup everytime. Do you have a virus scanner running? Could be a virus too. Searched your phrase on www.google.com Google Search Found a good link here - this should fix it. Fix Link Hope this helps!
If you shake it, everything will be erased, then you can start over. At least, that always works with my Computer.
