Just a few episodes. Started Cross Game and you should definitely watch it, breh. Baseball setting, but bit deeper than Baby Steps (sad feels involved , but I'm only at Episode 8 of 50 or something).
Breh...I did this cuz I was weak. The manga is really good and they set up the anime very similarly to it. Only problem is I've read them all and apparently the manga comes out very slowly so I'm in the same position again, lol Also finally started getting into that Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans on my friend's suggestion. He's a big Gundam fan and I watch some series off and on. Really like the characters in this one and I am definitely in it for the long haul. I'm wondering how long they will go with this series
can anyone give me your version of a top 5 or top 10 series i should check out. i'm kind of souring on tv a bit and wouldn't mind changing it up with some anime.
You looking for something old or something new. One Punch Man is my favorite new school anime right now As far as old school can't go wrong with Cowboy Bebop...its a classic
My personal top 5 1.Steins;Gate 2.Attack on Titan 3.Gurren Lagaan 4.Spice and Wolf 5.Cowboy Bebop honorable mention Madoka Magicka Psycho Pass Sword Art Online (first story only) Elfen Lied I personally much prefer to wait for the dubs, I just don't like taking my eyes off the action to read. But until the last 10 years or so, good dubs were rare. Now most anime are dubbed pretty well IMO, I think it's just a hipster thing to complain about them.
Berserk is a classic. You can watch the first episode here I personally prefer subtitles because I like to listen to the natural japanese voices. I find that a lot of the time the english dubbed voices don't fit the characters on screen.
I usually find the best dubs are the comedy animes. The actors seem to have fun with it and there is a lot of personality with it. Not too many of the more serious animes I prefer the dub over sub because like another poster I like to be able to watch all the action and not have to read at the same time. But will admit the sub is usually better simply because the actors don't convey some of the emotions through their voice that their Japanese counterparts do.
Have you guys watched jojo's bizarre adventure? Probably one of the better series ever and yet I rarely hear anyone talk about it.
My personal top 10 1. Claymore 2.Berserk 3. Baccano! 4. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood 5. Attack on Titan 6. Trigun 7. Cowboy Bebop 8. Samurai Champloo 9. Gungrave 10. Tie for any of the Gundam series
It's great, love the series. Most people are probably put off by the art style, but it sort of reminds me of a modern day fist of the north star.
1. Yu Yu Hakusho 2. Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso 3. Gurren Lagann 4. Clannad 5. Hunter x Hunter I can't go farther than this, too many good ones lol.
thanks everyone. i'll compile a list and see where that gets me. ill start with netflix and go from there
Good list. I don't usually watch that genre, but it took three episodes to get a real sense of how dark and twisted the series is. Also good is that it and the movie mostly completes the stories. Misleading cover and opening is all I can say. It depends on what genres you like. Also whether you're okay with shows completing rather than things being left halfway without any chance of ever completing within the next 5-10 years (Gantz, Berserk, Spice and Wolf, Attack on Titan, Hunter X Hunter). For the first two, it's too violent and graphic to produce without people buying straight to video dvds, and for the last four, the anime waits on the comic source material, which is either a weekly or monthly serial that doesn't always show up.
Dude, I'm loving bakuman. The 'couple' is so sweet. I watched the live action movie of it and thought it was pretty good without have known what it was about yet. (Watched 3 episodes when I watched the movie). I love azuki's character design. Simple, yet so interesting.
Knew you'd like it, breh. I'm on a Cross Game marathon and it's sooo good, you have to watch it. It details the sport like Baby Steps does and the characters are really well-written. Story is also deeper than Baby Steps.
I'll have to check it out soon, I'm gonna have to marathon this and toroki? I think it's called first lol. I looked it up on YouTube and I like the OP of it.
Can't find an anime named toroki, but one named Toriko. Is that the one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toriko
