Still think he's the #1 prospect. You see flashes of how dominant of a two-way player he can be. Think Paul George but advanced offensive skill.

    I'd take Parker before him.

It's not so much about what you are coming into the draft, it's all about ceilings. And Wiggins has a much much higher ceiling than MKG, both offensively AND defensively.

Andrew Wiggins is way overhyped. People are mesmerized by his athleticism. But he's not even close to LeBron or Durant at the same age.

1.) Size at Position - Small Forward
Wiggins is 6'8", but measured only 6'6" without shoes. Basically, he has Michael Jordan height, but is a small forward. Size at position is what made an average prospect like Chandler Parsons an NBA starter.
Wiggins would be worth his hype if he could play shooting guard in the NBA, but he has not displayed the guard skills that freaks like LeBron and Durant have.

    2.) Steals + Blocks
Steals and blocks are a good measure of athleticism on a basketball court, and can sometimes predict a prospect's chances at the next level. For all his supposedly elite athleticism, Wiggins is currently only averaging 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks in the NCAA. For comparison, here are some guys who were lesser known in college:

Jeremy Lin: 2.5 stl, 1.0 blk.
Dwyane Wade: 2.1 stl, 1.3 blk.
Kenneth Faried: 1.9 stl, 2.4 blk.
Paul George: 2.1 stl, 0.9 blk.

Pretty sad when Jabari Parker also does 0.9 stl and 1.1 blk when Parker is supposed to be the 'skills' guy and Wiggins is the 'athletic' guy.

By the way, that left-handed scoop shot Wiggins has is pretty nice, until you realize it's his only move.

Call me crazy but I'd use the #1 pick on another Jayhawks, Joel Embiid.

Parker is playing C or PF for Duke a lot of the time which explains his low steals and blocks. When he moves to SF in the NBA his other skills will manifest themselves better. Lately he has sacrificed stats even more in favor of defense and rebounds. Not coincidentally, Duke has improved by leaps and bounds in those areas. Watch out for Duke come March.

Wiggins on the other hand is barely able to keep up with that stacked Kansas team. He's playing his ideal position and looking like Marvin Williams on UNC while doing it.

    Huh?

He's the leading scorer on that stacked Kansas team, and easily the best perimeter defender on it as well. Seriously confused what you mean by "barely able to keep up". It's not like he's struggling to find minutes. In fact, he leads the team in minutes, so obviously Bill Self (elite coach) thinks pretty highly of him.

A ridiculous statement. Wiggins has struggled with consistency- as most freshmen do- but seems to have turned a corner based on his past two or three games. Marvin Williams wasn't even a starter- let alone his team's leading scorer or most effective perimeter defender- when he played at North Carolina. Any comparison between him and Wiggins is foolish.

Seconded. Whatever difficulties Wiggins has experienced, he's clearly improved since November and seems to be manifesting the offensive assertiveness many expected at the start of the season. That he's doing so playing in an offense that doesn't routinely feature wing players makes his increased scoring output all the more remarkable.

Wiggins is going insane against West Virginia. 41 points on 15/19 shooting.

15:19 from the free throw line I mean. 12/18 from the field.

Did anyone else see that? That was one of the best offensive (and individual defensive) games I've seen in a while. If he played every game like that he'd be unstoppable on both ends.
