Lol i was about to post the same thing. It's like the old SAT analogy section on crack....

...It's like getting run over by a rusted out 72 square foot Ford Pinto, that is up on blocks in the front yard.

One can throw up a recent tweet talking about Brady’s recent contract extension/signing and then say how the lesson is Watson will probably be around for 20 more years.

Makes as little sense as this anomaly.

And even less sense because the lesson has nothing to do with Luck. They have a SB caliber QB imo. Of course they shouldn’t **** that up.

Well, Tom Brady was sacked 61 times COMBINED in the past 3 years. Deshuan Watson was sacked 62 times last year.

So if we want to make the Brady comparison then Watson will be announcing his retirement in 7 years.

Some are rooting for Miller’s injury to hurt O’Brien. This is why players’ have to maximize their money when they can. Fans booing a player looking beyond football is classless. Rooting (yeah, yall are rooting) for Miller’s injury to hurt the Coach is the same classless ****. Miller’s career could be basically over (older RB with an ACL), and u are cheering because you think BoB’s job will be hurt by it. Classless.

Nobody really wants to see Miller hurt... not any true Texans fan. Regardless of that fact it still doesn't change the point that Bill O'Brien is a classless, hardheaded coach that's overwhelmed with responsibilities he hasn't shown he can handle successfully. I don't give a F about having the so called right culture or having 53 players with the perfect resume that always looks the part and sound professional. Just put a product on the field that wins and wins when it really counts. Don't give a F about versatility either... if a guy is a star tackle let him be a star tackle... if you need a good corner get a damn good corner. Don't get a safety and make him into a corner or get a guard and force him to play tackle. Our foundational pieces aren't strong enough yet on this team for this coaching staff to be doing bs like that. All it causes is embarrassment and injuries... just as last night was.

He threw the second most TD passes in his first 6 seasons behind Dan Marino and ahead of Peyton Manning. I’d say that's pretty good company.

The Yao Ming of the NFL? (only in terms of his pro career... please withhold the tsunami of comments about how much more transcendent Yao was)

He actually did a little more, accomplishment wise, than Yao did.... and this is definitely more stunning in the moment.

Right but just like you won’t find other minimally sacked QBs that still don’t play at their same old MVP level self into their early 40s, there are very few examples of what Luck has done.

There’s obviously good reasons in both extremes. There’s logic there. It makes sense. But the action still makes it an outlier. There’s a reason no one was saying “maybe Luck is about to retire!”

The point the the Texans oline sucks and if Watson keeps getting hit it’ll ruin him one way or the other stands regardless of Licks action imo. Texans fans certainly have been down that path before.

Frankly it’s one of the main reasons this message board hates BillyO. There’s other reasons but at the end of the day team performance hasnt been atrocious. Guy can’t draft or develop o line to save his life. But we still hope that changes. Maybe Roderick changes that! And Scharping. And Howard gets there. I’m happy to attribute it to bad luck so far if the results bear that out.

The game plan surrounding Brady, and his quick decision making, is as much a reason why he doesn't get sacked as his O-line is.

The only time Brady has consistently dropped back and looked to go for the deep ball is back when they had Moss, who's speed made it almost impossible to stay in front of him, and it didn't take that long for those plays to develop.

Otherwise, there are quick slants, outs, Welker/Edeleman making space, throw it up to Hernandez/Gronk and let them make a play.... etc. It sounds simple, but it takes a marked amount of coordination and a QB who can read the defense with expertise at the line (as Brady does) to know exactly where the soft spots are.

There's also the fact that once the QB starts picking you apart, teams stop blitzing/sending pressure. They back off into coverage since its just merely digging them deeper in a hole. We've already seen this take place with Watson as recently as last year... when he starts picking teams apart, they stop bringing pressure.

Of course if a line can't protect against 3 man fronts... that's a whole other level of incompetence.

Andrew Luck was a generational talent at the most important position in sports, the kind that can almost single-handedly elevate a franchise and you can argue Luck did just that early on in his career consistently taking the Colts one round further in the playoffs than expected. But this is a Texans’ forum and Luck’s shocking retirement presents this franchise with an incredible opportunity it has frankly done little to deserve on its own this past offseason. It’s time to seize the day. You still have Watson on a rookie contract, Watt’s not getting any younger, and Mercilus is in the final year of his contract. You’re sitting on $38million in unused cap (more if you part ways with Lamar Miller). Upgrade your O-line through a Clowney trade, but don’t stop there. Explore trading for a difference maker at RB. Add the luxuries your cap space should have allowed you to spend long before now. The division is there for the taking, perhaps more. Seattle went for it early in Russel Wilson’s rookie contract. Cleveland went for it after barely a whiff of Baker. The Rams went for it. It’s long past time for you to do the same. Do not squander yet another fortunate opportunity that’s been granted to you undeservingly

Who's your pick to win the AFC South now?

Matt Bowen: Houston Texans. The Texans will have to dip into the running back market after Saturday night's injury to running back Lamar Miller. But with quarterback Deshaun Watson, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and the defensive talent in Houston, give me the Texans.

Mike Clay: Houston Texans. The defending division champs won 11 games last season and didn't exactly get worse during the offseason, adding Bradley Roby, Matt Kalil, Tashaun Gipson and Jahleel Addae to help offset the losses of Tyrann Mathieu, Kareem Jackson and Andre Hal. The offensive line is still a major concern, but it was last season, too. Watson was terrific in 2018, and having a healthy Will Fuller V and Keke Coutee back should only help his cause.

Dan Graziano: Houston Texans. I default to the Texans, who always seems to find a way, but it's a jumble now. They obviously have the division's best quarterback now, and not just by a little.

Kevin Seifert: Houston Texans. At first blush, when comparing teams that are relatively close, go with the team that has the best quarterback. The Texans have some issues, but Watson isn't one of them.

Field Yates: Houston Texans. While each team has question marks, Watson is the unquestioned top quarterback in the division. Houston's offensive line and running back situations are concerning, but Watson's dynamic skill set is the difference-maker.

I've been waiting for this one! LOL
Although it's much shorter than I imagined it would be.
And much, much, much shorter than his actual speech.

I feel sorry for him though.
Fans can be so selfish and classless at times (booing).
Didn't deserve to go out like that.

I wish him well in life and am definitely glad we don't have to face him anymore.
Take care of the farm Andrew!
