See I can't go there. I want us to win one first then he can get his. As a Texans fan, Houston fan, I feel nobody deserves it more than us!!! Well maybe Cleveland LOL...

    Kurt Warner
    Matthew Stafford
    Randall Cunningham
    Jeff George
    Duante Culpepper

What do they all have in common?

They could throw the ball deep

You sure about that? I think there are reasons why BOB told Andre that he'd only see about 40 receptions this year, they forced WAY too many passes his way last year and they weren't going to do it again given his drops and fumbles in key spots.....certainly not when you have one of the most sure-handed WR's in the NFL on the other side of the field.

Not sure why you omitted the rest of my post, but ok. Dre had enough speed to consistently get 5 yards on DBs.... but, many of those passes turned into jump balls.

And Dre didn't catch "everything". He had very good hands, but dropped too many easy ones to be considered elite in that aspect.

The reason is clearly because of his contract

No, even if he changed his contract around he was still only going to have a very limited role on the team and he was told that he wouldn't even start every game....that's not because of his contract, it's because of his declining skillset and the team's interest in going a different direction.

Changed his contact around? I don't believe that was on the table.

They needed him gone for cap space. Especially when you screw up a draft so badly you need every dollar you can scrounge up in free agency.

Offering a reduced role just made the situation look better than an outright cut.

Sure but he never got the chance to throw it deep because if he took more than a 2 step drop he was on the ground before he could throw it. The O line we gave that kid is almost a crime.

LOL... no he didn't. Five yards consistently?.... Then you throw a 10-15-yard floater and let him run to the end 30 times a game........

He was a tremendous route runner and abnormally strong for a WR, which created all kinds of space. He was never a burner. Again, Texan fans consistently miscast Andre Johnson.

Also because Carr couldn't read defense and was the captain of all captain check downs. Funny how kubiak couldn't fix him but Schaab was immediately better with that ol

So if they were just planning on cutting him without offering him the opportunity of changing his contract, why talk to him at all? Of course it was on the table, but they weren't going to lie to him, if he changed his contract around so that he was paid closer to what he's worth then he'd be coming back to a reduced role in which he wouldn't even be an everyday starter. It seems like you are going out of your way to bash the Texans even when they do the right thing. It's pretty odd.

Whatever you thought of Carr, '02-'04-ish, there's absolutely no question that by 2005 and certainly 2006, regardless of who was at fault, he was a shell of a QB due to the beatings he had absorbed.

He choked. It happened. He wasn't reliable this past season. That's all I'm saying.

(BTW, this "Andre Johnson cost the Texans two wins" nonsense is another example of overrating WRs...)

    Define choke.turnovers happen.

I guess Russell Wilson choked on the last play.

LOL how? A guy fumbles and ruins the team's potential game winning drive....how is pointing that out overrating WR's?
