he's the reason i started watching football. really hope he retires next year and comes back or decides later to take a low salary.

i want him living back in houston soon. feels weird having a true legend somewhere else..

    this ruined my monday.

Glad AJ will get an opportunity to play for a real NFL organization... Sad it is when he is past his prime.. Really depressing that the city of Houston has to deal with the Texans amateur hour.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Man, I haven't felt like this since Hakeem left for Toronto. I know everybody nowadays is in love with our after-school special defensive lineman, but Andre IS the Texans for me--it'll be sad to not have him around next season.

That said, I was actually hoping, for his sake, that he would've left last season. I think with an actual quarterback, he'll easily be over 1000 yds next year and hopefully a top-tier team will recognize that and get him onboard. The poor guy has spent his entire career in quarterback hell--all the while with a damn near smile on his face--he deserves no less than Rodgers, Brady, or Peyton (well, Kubes notwithstanding).

Really wished the team could have had more success while he was here. He really did deserve more. Gonna be weird not seeing him out there on gameday.

#80 is the only Texans jersey I own. :(

It's embarrassing to me as a Houstonian that this organization wasted this man's career. Year after year he just kept showing up to bust his ass, keeping his mouth shut though we all knew the team had no shot at winning much of anything. I hope he gets his shot at a ring.

Good for both parties, we get the cap space he gets to look for another team that wants him.

I have a feeling that we will see aj do damage and has plenty left. Did hopkins just turn into a pumpkin the last 2 games? no he just wasn't targeted. Love what fitzy did for us under the circumstances but let's be honest his favorite targets were only hopkins, grass and the swatted balls. The patriots way wouldn't have so much pizzazz without #12 and hoody.

that said, andre should have taken a pay cut if he really wanted to be here. I wish him the best. I'll never let go, andre. i promise =)

I hope the Texans win the SuperBowl without him.

    Best of luck Dre!

I'm never going to forget that OT game against Jacksonville when he cached the game winning touchdown. Thank you Andre for providing one of the greatest sports moments of my life.

If he goes to a real team will he finally get a real agent and not his uncle? It's Uncle Dre's fault he's leaving due to poor management of his contracts. Fact.

Relax. Can't happen. The Cows cannot afford him. Look at what they just did with Bryant and Murray. They are financially strapped vis-a-vis the Cap.

I was at the Washington OT game in which Andre made that crazy TD catch. The stadium went from deafening to silent (except for me yelling at the top of my lungs). Best Texans player ever!

Between '07-'13 (the full Kubiak/Schaub era), AJ posted a 16-game average of 106 catches and 1,498 yards. Since 2007, FYI, 13 WRs have posted 100+/1,400+ seasons - four were turned in by AJ, more than any other WR.

You're obviously not the only one posting this sentiment, dumbartonbass - so I'm asking everyone who shares it: just what, exactly, would an elite QB have meant to a player who was clearly already the best at his position for an extended time?

I don't think anyone here needs to apologize to Andre Johnson.

Got to give love to the guy that represented our city well and was a beast on and off the field. Grade A WR, and a terrific mix of humility and pure talent. Andre Johnson deserved better in terms of his supporting cast, but its unfortunate its had to be this way. Wish you nothing but the best Dre'..hope you get your chip #AJ80.
