Did anyone catch the ProBowl skills challenge today on ESPN. Andre was the only reciever in the finals of the fastest man compitition. He lost out to some DB from Atlanta, but I was quite impressed with showing and think he would have won out if it would have been longer than 35 yds.
I gotta say Im shocked that Darrell Green was competing. The guy never ages. 2 years ago, at the competition, he ran a 4.26 40 (at the age of 43). Unreal. AJ was impressive. He seems to get off to bad starts because he is too upright in his stance at the start. If he corrected that problem, his chances of winning would have been much better. Rossum deserved to win it though, he was fast. Very fast.
It was actually only 35 yards. But they did say that Green does still run a 4.6 40, which is extremely impressive. The guy looks like he could still play.
The fastest man competition is a 40 yard dash. Johnson messed up in his interview when he said 35 yards.
Va Tech is prob the most notoriously iffy on 40 times and bench presses. According to them, everyone they have runs 4.4 and benches over 450.
Andre is awesome. If Carr ever gets anytime whatsoever to actually throw the ball more then 10 yards downfield, AJ will really explode.
I remember when they said their quarterback Drukenmiller (sp) was the strongest guy on their team. He was drafted by the 49ers but I don't think he still plays. He did have some guns though.
I think Va Tech claimed that their DE Corey Moore ran a 4.3, when in fact he ran a 4.68 at the combine.
Drunckenmiller....I remember a game back in college were he completely missed a corner blitz. The corner was almost perfectly horizontal when he hit drunckenmiller. The corner fell to ground with Drunckenmiller barely flinching. Drunckenmiller looked down at him before launching a bomb to the guy's man who had the safety burnt.
