So who is going to write that article :

James Harden was misunderstood by most fans about his work ethic and efforts on the court

    - quoting : While many believe James is playing lazy defense on the court this year and even McHale mentioned he was out of shape coming to the training camp while busy banging the Khole. This is hardly the truth and actually far from the truth, James got his ankle injured when he was visiting a 5 years old kid with cancer in the hospital but the story was covered by the Rockets and his agent because he doesn't want the kid's family to have any bad feeling...

A fine sentiment, but this part doesn't have sound logic behind it:

Even if he wanted out of Houston, he wouldn't have picked his option up. He'd rather keep his reputation as high as possible (rather than be a whiner again like he has been perceived as in the past) so that he could still get a great FA deal in the offseason elsewhere.

Maybe the relationship can still be salvaged, but there is zero causality here.

I personally think dwight wants to stay and I think harden wants him here too.

What team besides GS who I admit is a better option can offer Durant a better situation than here.

I don't care what nonsense ppl want to speal KD is never going to get it done in OKC with Westbrook they don't have any real money or draft picks to improve the team and haven't done anything to make him believe they can get it done going foward. They are a level below the elite and its showing more and more as the season progresses.

Imo houston is his best chance at a ring with harden and howard besides going to Oakland. I'm biased sure but we've had more success then okc since howard joined houston than they have. I know health is a major factor but its not like we have been super healthy either.

If houston goes on to upset the clips or Okc in the first round it will be a very big factor in his decision. We got a strong chance at durant even if ppl here don't want to talk about it right now.

Okc GS and Hou his only options imo.

Is it though? Doesn't the cap increase even more after next season? If so why wouldn't dwight opt in for next year making him eligible for FA in an even higher cap environment??

    Makes sense to me.

Well because he's 30 and has back issues. He better cash in now.

If he was younger and 100% healthy id agree with you

Don't disagree but I'm not so sure he's looking at it that way. At the very least it definitely isn't "crazy talk"... Assuming he can stay relatively healthy he can easily cash in to an even greater extent.
