This is likely the worst comment I've seen you post malakas.

Capela is absolutely seen as a positive asset. A young budding semi star on a very team friendly deal.

He is great against 29 teams and it just sucks the 1 team he isnt good enough against is the Warriors.

But they are toast now and if your a up and coming rebuilding team, like say Sacremento, Capela is an ideal fit and value.

    Is it?
    I don't know about that.
I heard Lowe in is podcast three weeks ago, saying that teams have begun to realise that they dont' need to pay big salaries to Centers and they can get someone with MLE salaries. Unless the C is a star which Capela isnt.

Who cares about glued to the bench in the playoffs House is you have Butler. He played here because we literally had no one at that position.

Capela isn’t an albatross. He is quite moveable.

He has upside that's why you care.

They have to have SOMEONE to play lol.

Let's just say we only move Capela/Gordon and bring back Butler. We will have no 6th man, ZERO shooters, no backup wings, no one who can play the 4 besides Tucker and no starting center.

We can use the MLE to get DeAndre maybe, but there is still a lot of roster construction that would be needed, otherwise (and I know @J.R. will hate this) they won't have "enough help."

I doubt Philly will want Capela, but someone will. I'm highly confident that we were prepared to move him to Boston on draft night.

Here's the thing tho, capela is young, 23?, has improved every year sometimes vastly, and is locked up under a very good deal.

Sure, we could probably get 75% of capela for the MLE but that extra 25% is extremely valuable dont overlook that.

Also, if your a team like let's say Sacremento again, you cant really attract free agents. You have a young core. WCS is trash and you wanna move on. You dont think they would be willing to make a push for the playoffs?

I like Lowe, hes smart. But hes not all knowing, and just because teams have started realizing overpaying centers isnt worth it. Doesnt mean an accurately or even underpaid Capela is a bad contract and no one wants him.

Look to Milwaukee this offseason. How much do you think Brooke is gonna get on the open Market? And at what price do you not want him back?

He will likely get a salary similar to Capela and, the hes worth it especially in Milwaukee.

Everything isnt so cut and dry of mle money or star getting max.

His upside is overrated. He's a bounce around the league player that got burn on a team devoid of SF's. He wasn't even playable when we needed him most. I'd happily lose him to get an All-NBA type player at the same position.

I still cringe thinking about an old Sedale Threatt playing crucial playoff minutes in 1997.

Zach Lowe’s “league sources” consist of the crumbs WOJ drops him and what he hears other people on the outside say. He and Windhorst have zero connections from front offices or even players. They just aren’t trusted by league offices.

Really have people who opppsoed this even look at the free agent list. Why do you guys think we won’t get bench depth if we get jimmy butler. There are plenty of options.

I kinda doubt that, he's always talking about being out for dinner with league execs during his pods, which I guess could be a lie although I trust him - but his old ESPN articles before WOJ joined were always filled with the 'league sources' tidbits. He's one of the most respected writers out there, teams get that.

So if it’s a sign and trade then we can’t go over the cap to bring back guys like Faried and Rivers correct?

But if it’s an opt in and trade we could?
