    Don't forget James Anderson and Canaan.

    I think also there are guys out there who will be bought out. Keep in mind, there is talent everywhere. Mike James played great for Dallas last year. John Lucas has played big in the past for the Bulls when Rose went down. There are guys out there that we are forgetting that Morey hasn't.
    I think it will take a better package than the one you mentioned though. Like, TJones instead of White.

    Lordy can you imagine if Morey could sell the Hawks on taking Lin instead of Asik for a sign and trade for Smith?!

    Howard, Asik, and Smith the defensive potential...

    Ferry might go for it or maybe get a third team involved. The Sixers need a PG right time for Hinkie to do us a solid.

    Howard -> Olajuwon
    Harden -> Drexler
    Smith -> Barkley
    Parsons -> Elie
    Lin -> Maloney

    We can do this. Make up for the dagger by Stockton, and slay the league's big 3. Redemption is at hand!

    That's what I am hoping for. As mentioned above, if we deplete our PG position, we could ALWAYS find cheap, talented guys to help us fill in the gaps there (Mike James, John Lucas, Gilbert Arenas -- JK!)

    Why do a sign and trade with Hawks...if we have to give up our assets!?

    1, trade Asik to Bobcats for 2015 first round pick? They can absorb his contract
    2, Trade two of them (TJONEs/DMO/G.Smith) for 2nd picks
    3, Sign Smith outright and pay a little bit luxury tax which Les is willing to do so.

    After that, we have Howard/JSmith/Parsons/Harden/LIN...and a lot of picks in the future

    it would definitely be an exciting team. I'd like to think it would be a contending team, but would still want to upgrade the 4 spot.

    I'm really hoping this is the case. I'd be hard pressed to think Morey would break the bank for Smith. Unless, It's what Dwight wants and it's the only way he commits to the Rockets.

    There is no such thing as super max anymore under the CBA rules. There is only the MAX that is given (150% rule from previous salary)

    I forgot to add below the salary picture:
    White 573,160
    Honeycutt 100,000

    but the total of $58,360,665 is correct

    The ramblings of a fool high on the prospect of signing two stars in an offseason. My bad, sir.

    I am hoping that somehow we can get Aldridge instead of Josh Smith through sign and trade. We could use Asik ,T. Jones and Dmo plus a draft pick or two...would that be a better deal then getting Smith ?

    Think alternative 2 is much more likely than Lin and Asik in the same deal for just Smith coming back. Same Smith salary works for Asik, White (contract with us sending cash if need be), and Jones. You still have the room to sign Dwight for the max before that and you still have Lin and are under the luxury tax even if you used your exception and signed a vet exception/minimum.

    Even then, we still would not have enough to flat out sign Smith.

    You'd have to trade Lin too in your scenario, the value of the sign and trade is to go over the cap and retain one of Lin or Asik

    No, I believe you are wrong.

    Dwight's max is calculated as 105% of his previous salary because he is already above the league max hence the term supermax.

    If Smith just avoid those shooting jumpers and fix his ft% (seriously how did it fall so dramatically), then adding him could pay off because his off-ball defense is great.

    understood
    but i think the only true winning position they would have is cp3
    harden wins, parsons wins, smith and griffin are a wash, dwight wins
