Lol the clippers made no effort to hide that Bledsoe was on the block and he did in fact just get traded. Stfu and get a clue before u post ****ing garbage. It's not like it's hard to figure out if certain players are on the trading block. Execs don't always have to lie, sometimes there's no point

Nice idea. If you bring in Calderon for something reasonable that give you the shooting/assist/low turnover vet PG that the Rockets are looking for.

Yeah, not sure after all that how we could get Calderon, but he would be ideal IMO.

Would we have the Non-taxpayer exception to use? He may pop for $5.15M to play on that team.

    1) Howard 20,513,178
    2) J.Smith 15,000,000
    3) Harden 13,755,089 (adjusted for 58.5m cap)
    4) Jose Calderon 5,150,000
    5) Kyle Korver 5,000,000
    6) D-Mo 1,422,720
    7) Parsons 926,500
    8) G.Smith 884,293
    9) Beverley 788,872
    10) Canaan 490,180 (no contract yet, assume rookie min.)
    11) Cap Hold 490,180
    12) Cap Hold 490,180

That would still put them well below (about $6.7M) the $71.6M Luxury Tax. Heck you could even use the bi-annual, if need be, on a guy like Dalembert and be stacked IMO.

Harden is not that bad a defender. He was up there in steals last season

I don't think josh knows Dwight's plans but Morey clearly sold him on playing together as soon as Dwight decides josh should be right after

I'm one of the biggest Harden homers you'll ever find, but let's be real...the dude was pretty dreadful on defense. He showed flashes of being a truly good defender, but they were WAY too few and far between. He's gotta improve.

If Morey sold both of these guys on this plan then I'd like to think that Josh would wait no matter what.

Harden's defense was based off effort.

The Rockets avoid the mid range shot because it is the least efficient in basketball. The 3 ball and shots at the rim are the most efficient. Morey is all about sabre metrics. You sure you've been here since 2002?

Patterson shot the mid-range jumper when he was here. And it was fine. This is because Patterson's mid-range jumper is VERY good, 48.6%. The Rockets are definitely good with that kind of percentage coming from their PF.

Every shot is a good shot if you can make it at a high enough clip. The thing is, most players can't shoot that long 2 at a super-high clip. It's rare to find a player who doesn't have 3pt range, but can shoot that 18-20 footer reliably.

    Asik > Smith...

I've noticed Smith sulks after bad plays & gets beat on the other end often. He takes ill-advised shots. Is he a hustle player? It takes a special mindset to be a roll player and I don't know if he's ready for that.

Our 4 needs to be of the Rodman, Otis Thorpe mold if we have D12. Someone of the Robert Horry mold could see minutes at the 4 as well, but I don't know if Smith can play that roll--solid man-to-man & weak-side D, doesn't take bad shots, spaces the floor, good passer.

Lam.Aldridge/Howard would give us a similar pair to Duncan/Robinson & I would prefer that.

Patterson is not the norm. You are arguing an outlier. Rockets do not encourage any of their other 4s to shoot long 2s.

If Patrick Patterson was the ideal PF for this team, they would not have jettisoned him.

I don't see where the hate is coming from for Jeremy Lin. He did his job, brought in some extra revenue in a down year, and now he gets to take his shtick to another team. Good job, Jeremy. Les Alexander appreciates your talents.

Listen. I have watched Rockets ball for over 30 years. I have never seen a lazier player on D On any Rockets team. Period.
