It means Walt is taking on Skylar's traits. And if we soon see Walt eating a huge bowl of cereal, that means he's regressing into puberty and taking on Walt Jr's traits. Now, if he starts watching Star Trek....
Keep in mind that this is the popular theory. Breaking Bad has the best writers that keep you guessing. I don't think they'd make it this obvious to predict the plot.
If Breaking Bad took place entirely on Facebook -A recap of the first half of Season 5. http://www.someecards.com/2013/08/08/if-breaking-bad-took-place-entirely-on-facebook
Which is why people are theorizing that it means that at some point between now and Walt's 52nd Birthday, he will kill Skyler.
The writers wont have such blatant symbolism in the first scene of season 5, they don't take us for idiots. I think Skylar will die but deff. not at Walts hands, he may be the reason she does but no way he kills her.
Isn't the whole point of the series to show one man's complete downward spiral, going from a loving father and law abiding citizen to a complete scumbag? He is "Breaking Bad" after all.
I agree with you completely, I'd be very surprised if Walt kills Skylar. I was just trying to explain to him the theory.
Exactly, because if he did, that would mean he is NO LONGER taking on Gus's traits (who would never kill his wife), which complicates this whole "taking on traits of people he kills" thingie. btw: is there any foreshadowing of Walt having sexy time with Lydia? With her Sun Glasses on, ftw!
Remember that Walt takes on characteristics from the people he directly kills and also those that die indirectly at his hands. For example, if you believe that he was emulating Gus through his behavior at the car wash towards Lydia and with the towel in front of the toilet, well, he didn't kill Gus- Tio did. So, it can be very likely that Walt creates a situation in which his wife gets killed- let's say, for example, that someone threatens Walts' family - but instead of panicking, like before, he basically has the "I dare you" attitude and doesn't get them out of harm's way- it could lead to someone attacking her and Walt is guilty of neglect.
I know everyone loves the Walt kills Skylar theory, but I don't buy it. I think she might die, but it will be collateral damage if it happens (ie if the Czech's aren't very happy with Walt's absence)
Yes, of course, but if you want to be technical, Tio didn't have to ring the bell. He could have changed his mind at the last minute. Same with Jane. Not saving her from asphyxiation is not the same as outright killing her
