Yes it was all part of his plan to get Jesse on his side. We weren't 100% sure Walt did it or where the cigarette went after season 4 finished but this episode cleared those up.
I was gonna watch it on the DVR because i always have a timer for it but then realized i have DISH!....So i had to download it, and was that Bobby from Supernatural in the opening scene?
Come on....How many times is Hank gonna find breakthrough evidence or clues...unrealistic, but great start to the show. I wonder how far along in the season that flash forward takes place. Based on his choice of weapon, Hank must have watched Scarface one too many times LOL.
if i remember correctly, the show opened when Hank was 50 and he turned 52 in this episode... crazy to think this has all happened in a 2 year span!
Every time i see Hank waddling around the crime scene i just knooooow he's gonna find something that incriminates Jesse and Walt. Makes me cringe.....He probably directly affects the outcome of the show more then any other character. If u took him out of the equation, it would be a completely different Breaking Bad.
Hank has been a great investigator, but it's not like he has done anything that was breakthrough in this season's premiere. Whether or not Hank was at the crime scene, Gustavo's office still would have been bagged and tagged and Walt/Jesse/Mike would still have to choose to run or destroy the laptop.
Actually what we've seen on the show is only a year's worth of time, think there's an episode called 51 coming up....
this season's 1st episode's initial diner scene takes place 1 year from the demise of Gustavo & then rewinds back in time to the day of "Face Off". Walt's hair is back and judging from the meds so is the big C.
Correct. He also sold Walt his first self-bought gun at the beginning of season 3. My how things change with time.
Walt *IS* the Villian As I watched this show . .. I cannot say it is as good as The Wire. This manipulation of Jessie is finally Walt learning to be truly evil Most of the time . . . Walt survived by the good graces of others or his 'indespensibility'. His wife is becoming truly corrupt as well. It was interesting at first but it got repetition Jessie being stupid and smug Walt doing something stupid and smug Hank being right and smug Skylar being pissed and smug Hank's wife being clueless and smug Every character in the family seems to have an incredible level of arrogance, Self Righteousness and entitlement about them. Only truly likable character is Walt Jr. They were likable at first now they are not so much at the end. and evidently every other investigator in the world kind of sucks! SO: QUESTION: The Call that saved Hank . . . was that Gus? I don't think it was ever explicitly said but seems obvious one more thing . . . I don't like how easily Mike has been converted Rocket River
ONE MORE THING: Gus's Chilean heritage seems significant. So do you suspect it will come into play this season? Rocket River
well thats pretty cool that he got a big role on probably the best show out there right now. maybe at the end walt dies and he takes over the business.
