An up-and-coming CIA analyst, Jack Ryan, is thrust into a dangerous field assignment as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit. Watched all 8 eps past weekend. I was entertained. Similar feel to 24, Homeland etc
As an aficionado of some the the books...here's this: "Without Remorse" is getting movie treatment, John Clark (Michael B Jordan) is theoretically going to happen.
If Colbert watched the first episode, or read the synopsis for that matter, then he should understand Jack Ryan is Jim Halpert .... minus selling paper and trolling Dwight. A dorky desk jockey who's only reason to be out of the office (no pun intended) is to pick up Subway for lunch.
It was entertaining during the dead summer season. Not as good as 24 or Homeland, but watchable. I expected more out of Jack Ryan, he wasn't much of a wolf. I still don't understand the point of the B story with the drone pilot.
Pretty OK. Good show for the dead season of TV, not to mention it's "free" (assuming you have Prime). Shows like this are making me look forward to the end of my TV contract.
I saw this Men's Health in a clinic and said to the nurse, 'is this the before pic?'. She said 'oooooh you messy' which really confused me. How would she know?
Gets a solid C+ in my books. Entertaining enough and worth a watch to see Jim in a different setting.
I liked the way it flowed along rather swiftly and it didn't really bog down. I agree with the average-to-slightly-above average rating that most seem to give it. It could be better. I will say I enjoyed "Mad Dogs" a lot more, though (which I watched after). It's too bad we are not getting a second season of that show.
Some parts of the show were a little dragging. like the drone pilot who was having a mental breakdown.
I saw the first one and some of the lines (I can't remember which) that were given to the Bunk Moreland from the Wire/Antoine from Treme CIA boss guy were so corny and awful as compared to the characters I am used to seeing him play that I had to stop watching.
Yeah, they could of removed this completely. The scene at his house after the casino was just weird and unnecessary.
They could have cut the poorly lit side boob sex scene out and/or done a PG version. The only one who benefited from that scene was John. Albeit I have no problem with Abbie Cornish doing more nude scenes, that felt out of place for an action series. I guess John wanted it in (no pun intended), though.
Great watch. Also liked the pacing and the possibility of resolution Clancy wrote that part in for all the cucks out there. That pilot visiting the family gave me the biggest feels in the series.
Yeah, I enjoyed it. It's efficient. They kind of doubled down on not giving too much time to character building, which I am fine with. There's enough character-centric shows out there already. It's a nice break to have just a straightforward plot and action driven show.
