SAN ANTONIO — Former NBA All-Star Alvin Robertson has been charged with sexual assault of a child, trafficking an underage child for purposes of sex and forcing a sexual performance by a child.

The charges were contained in an arrest warrant Friday. Robertson has not been apprehended.

Authorities claim the 47-year-old former Spurs star was part of a ring that kidnapped a 14-year-old girl from San Antonio, forced her to have sex with clients and to dance at a Corpus Christi strip club last year.

The girl escaped her alleged captors, prompting an investigation. Seven people have been charged, including Robertson's girlfriend, and he's the only one who has not been arrested.

The seventh overall pick in the 1984 draft, Robertson averaged 14 points over 10 seasons and was voted to four All-Star games.

    He is one of 4.

Nate Thurmond did it first, he did it 2nd. Then Hakeem and David Robinson.

I went to college and was friends with his son, Tyrell Johnson who now plays for the Vikings.

I remember hearing that other NBA players were literally afraid of Alvin Robertson, fear for their life afriad, back when he was playing.

I bet he's involved like Mike Vick.

Bankrolled the operation. Had no clue what was going on.

You're assuming Alvin Robertson had a bankroll. I'm not so sure. He's been retired for a while and players didn't make what they do now back then.

And, incidentally, Vick was more involved than just bank rolling it.

This guy has been busted for domestic abuse a few times. Still one of the best defensive and all-around PG's I've seen. The guy was incredible when you take offense and defense into account. Defensively, I can't think of too many PG's better on defense.

I heard that about Charles Oakley, but never about Robertson. I just remember Robertson was a gym rat and never stopped playing basketball even after practice or during the off-season. (Off-topic, but I remember Barkley saying Armen Gilliam was a guy he never wanted to mess with.)

this guy can't control his hormones, kidnapping and forcing a child to perform sexual acts on him, c'mon. that's beyond belief. that's just sick, imagine the scar she'll have for the rest of her life.

i hope he goes to jail and his jailmate takes care of his sorry ***, pun intended.

I live in the area where he went to college and currently is being held in jail. All over the local news...The local news says he has faced almost 30 different criminal charges in his life.

He was an off-the-ball guard - a '2'. He played alongside people like Johnny Dawkins and Jay Humphries who were more "real point guards".

You may be right. I always remember him splitting ball-handling duties with Dawkins, Moore (after his career was going downhill) and Humphries which is one reason why their assist numbers were similar. Weird that I don't remember him as a 2.
