Out of all those guys, I'll have to go with Francisco Elson.

I'd go for Jamaal Magloire or Theo Ratliff if we absolutely have to. It would be so nice if we can just retain Landry and Deke though.

Nothing at all to excite there.

Sign - Sign and trade ASAP management.

Theo and Zo would be intriguing but an injury away from the end of their careers.

Dammit, that was meant to be posted in another thread, but I screwed it up. How can I delete my own posts? I mean to say that Elson's actually a viable option. He's an okay defender and I'll take him (at a reasonable price) for the backup center spot.

    uuuh...[IMG]no thanks

Theo Ratliff would be a very sensible Deke replacement but he is probably the MOST UNHEALTHY guy in the entire NBA. For some reason I'd find Mourning a bit disruptive, dont ask me why...

Elson's the only one who wouldnt piss me off too much.

If I only knew where you live.....

On a related topic, ESPN just put this up...

"At this point, he's [Juwan Howard] playing for a championship, not money."

After $200 Million, 20+ different teams, several biological donations, and a pair of Oakleys, it's abut ******* TIME, JUWAN!!!

Honestly at this poing I see no reason why Landry and Deke would not want to sign with us especially Deke. If he truly wants to win a Championship I think Houston is the city that can help him do just that. If they are just looking for money then I don't see a reason to really want them. We need players that are hungry and want nothing less than a championship. Deke and Landry would prove to be vital parts to this team and if they don't want to be part of something special then I am sure we will find two people to fill their void that are. It has taken some time but Morey has definitely put together three stars to a team that could easily take us to a whole new level. I am not just talking about getting past the first round but maybe 3 or more rings. But I sure hope we get these two.

Juwan would be a nice yin to Hayes yang. For the right price of course.

This type of thread really makes you question how overpaying Landry would really hurt us in the grand scheme of things. If I had the choice between overpaying Landry or attempting to replace him with the Othella Harrington's and Robert Horry's of the world the decision is pretty much a no-brainer, IMO.

I think you need flexablity when it comes to landry contract more than anything else. I wouldnt be against giving landry the Full MLE if it were a 2 year deal. That way you're never really handcuffed by his contract. If his knee breaks down again next season, then the following year he becomes an expering contract. If landry wants anything more than 2 years at the full MLE than bye bye landry it was nice knowing ya ;)

We need to get Deke/Landry back, and we need to sign Elson while we are at it, he has a ring, and can hit close jumpers.
