Already tied? Yes but it doesn't mean they will not be worse than "7 games over .500" by the end of the season So this doesn't prove anything
You cant tell a fan to stop being a fan. We win some are happy and some are still finding things throughout that game to complain about. We lose some fans will complain and tends to get extremely frustrated. Fandom101 pimp.
Every time this team loses people bring up Miami's example. It's really sad and funny at the same time.
Why are you so shocked I mean didn't the Orlando Magic with a younger Penny Hardaway and Shaq go to the Finals. Nobody seen them going to the Finals that year either. You saying be excited but don't expect us to be contenders. LOL
you have to give them time to gel. they are a contender but they still need to learn to play together.
that's a lot, but it really doesn't mean that much. i remember when they hit that mark and then it went downhill. it only matters how you finish
I agree with all you said EXCEPT for Howard... You don't pay a guy BIG MAX MONEY who is trying to find himself after he's already been in the league 10 years (he needs a map) and I really don't think he's lost any magic... He looks the same he's always has (offensively). The difference is that Orlando team was built and played differently around him and they played in the LEASTERN CONFERENCE... The addition of Howard shortens the window for this team as constructed. And adding Howard to what we already had supposedly should have made this team a contender... But the season is still young _ and the west is kind of wide open... Once the Rockets hit the playoffs _ anything can happen.
Naw... Ben Tate was right on the money about some of the fans around here... People here sat around and was patient with guys like Schaub and Carr _ But Harden is just starting his 2nd year of being a starter and the #1 option... It's one thing to criticize but many of you just bytc4 and complain about a kid trying to learn to be "THE GUY" _ BUT Howard is a 10 year vet who's supposedly a SUPER STAR center (as you consider him) and y'all let that joker skate but ride Harden like a dog.... Harden is young, inexperienced, not very well coached, and playing on two hurt feet but he can't catch a break with Y'all... But Howard gets D'up one on one by Andrea and y'all don't say sheet...
I don't like lowering expectations. Morey did not sign Howard so we can get to the second round and pat ourselves on the back.
Historically: http://forums.lakersground.net Presently: Any Heat fans forum. There's absolutely no sense of universal superiority plaguing this board... No one here is throwing irrational tantrums over being the elite team/organization in the league and not winning every game... Valid concerns are being reasonably raised about a troubling pattern found both in several of this team's wins as well as several of their standout losses, and valid points are being made as to how to possibly address them before the window of opportunity to do so closes... That's prudent thinking, which the modern world is in short supply of...
But, he's only 27-going-on-28 years of age.. so, what if he's one of our two major players and the majority of his game relies on freakish athleticism for a man his size... let's all hold hands, look on the bright-side, and indulge in some blind faith that somehow it'll all work out... because ignoring repeated self-defeating patterns naturally enables a victorious outcome...
I don't think there is any question, this team with a core of Harden, Howard and probably Parsons, will be a contender, if not this year, then in the near future. Howard's impact cannot be underestimated, even if it does not always show up on the box score. And the early returns on what this team is capable of in the future, I think, are very positive. Don't get downhearted about this rough (relatively to expectations speaking) start. This team, even as currently configured, has a good chance of beating any team in the league on a given night. It's never pleasant having to deal with personnel controversies, or play by star players that falls short of expectations, but none of what we have seen thus far this season is a cause of concern. In fact, for me, the Rockets' early season performance has been a confirmation that the basic foundations of their system and their personnel are sound. And that they will reach the level they need to contend for a title sooner rather than later. The losses are only as disappointing as they are, because when they play well, they are so utterly dominating. That is a good thing, not a bad thing.
The benchmark isn't us last year. It's the Heat, Pacers, Spurs, Thunder of this year. Right now, we're 1-0 on those teams but we've shown our weaknesses plenty a time.
It's not about LOWERED expectations - it's about REALISTIC expectations. The reality is what it is. As a fan you can appreciate what you have and be happy we aren't trapped in mediocrity, or you can complain about us not being perfect and throw beer at the TV every time we lose and turn the GARM into a cesspool. In 1993, there was this team that was essentially the exact same team as the year before - an also ran that lost in the 2nd round...that save the addition of a rookie pg who didn't even start - was the same exact team. No one expected much from them. They won the championship not once, but twice. They had a motto that has been engraved into this teams history. For all of you who whine after each and every lost and talk about how this team should be winning rings right now, no excuses, so on and so forth....let me share with you the essence of our past championship runs: Spoiler
