I know we got these guys in the trade and they both have teams options this year. The question is will either of these guys make the team and are either of them even very good anyway?

I don't think either are fully guaranteed this season if i am reading this correctly. http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/HOU.html
Both are NON-guaranteed. In fact, thanks to some handy salary cap maneuvering by the Pelicans (who didn't end up with enough cap room to absorb Omer Asik into their team salary), both Gee (from CLE) and Hopson (from CHA, having just been traded there from CLE) were specifically traded for by the Pelicans JUST FOR THEIR NON-GUARANTEED CONTRACTS in order to be flipped to Houston to complete the Asik trade. My guess is that both Gee and Hopson will be heavily shopped as salary filler as part of a trade between now and the start of the regular season. If neither is dealt, there's a chance one or both could make the final 15-man roster. Of the two, Gee would be more likely, since his $3 million non-guaranteed salary would remain more attractive as trade bait between now and January 10 (when all salaries become fully guaranteed).
These guys are salary fillers only. Who are you gonna drop to keep them? We have Harden, Howard, Ariza, T Jones, Beverley, Daniels, Cannaan, N Johnson, Papanikolaou, Covington, D-Mo, Dorsey, Adrian, Capela and Ish.
I doubt if either one of them will be here, but Gee is better than Covington(who is partially guaranteed).
Gee's career DRTG is 109, ORTG is 101. -8, last year it was DRTG 107 and ORTG 97 -10. He makes Chandler Parsons look like Michael Jordan.
You're probably right, although (depending on what other trades are made between now and then in which multiple Rocket salaries are shipped out) I could imagine a scenario in which Gee is kept on the roster as a mid-tier expiring contract and salary filler for a trade closer to the February trade deadline. But the Rockets would need to be pretty confident about getting a deal done in order to risk paying Gee an extra $1.7 million or so after January 10.
And Luol Deng's ORTG was 106 and his DRTG was 110. When you're on a absolutely pathetic team, your ORTG/DRTG are not going to be very indicative of you as an individual player on either end.
Gee and Hopson would be considered scrubs on the Bucks. I actually picked some of Gee's better stats. Normally you can see a glimmer of hope in the stats somewhere and for Gee (and Hopson for that matter) there is just no glimmer. But hey perhaps magic happens and Gee turns into a poor mans Sean Marion. Ironically Gee had some of his best career games against the Rockets so perhaps DM saw something in him none of the stats show.
Gee would be decent if he could just add that 3 pt shot. Unless he shows up to preseason with it, he's gone.
