"Alleged" first round promise

    It's amazing how all these underclass and high school kids are waiting for this first round promise from teams, as to whether they will stay in the draft.

    Why would a team tell some kid they want to draft him now, a week before the draft, when nothing really heats up until the draft day?? You can't promise anyone anything during drafts, but the moment you think you have your player, someone may come and offer you something better. Where does that leave your college sophomore?? Falling and HOPING someone will grab him!!

    Yes you are so right....... look at Chris Marcus, he definitly benefited from withdrawing from the draft. Why earn 10 mil guaranteed when you can make $5.50 an hour as a cashier.

    Or, how about earning an education and waiting for when you are actually READY to play basketball in the pros?

    An education, what a concept! Between this and your Francis-->JWill statement in the NBA forum...ah, nevermind.
