This one gets my vote. Rockets trade Sam Cassell, Robert Horry, Chucky Brown and Mark Bryant to the Suns for Charles Barkley.
Rockets not making any effort to go after Webber and giving Mo T a huge contract instead. (think this will light anyone's fire?)
If we're talking best, that one gets my vote. I've only been a fan for about the last decade, and one of the worst in that time has to be giving Kelvin Cato 42 million dollars after about five preseason games...
Without Mo's resigning and subsequent injury, there's no way we get Ming. I'd rather have Mo, Moochie, and Ming than an overrated max player that folds in the fourth quarter.
The Bullets complaining Miami tampered with FA Juwon Howard, and inking him to a 125 mil deal. The Bullets trade Rasheed Wallace for Rod Strickland. The Bullets trade Chris Webber for Mitch Richmond. The Bullets change their name to "the Wizards".
Trading Big E for players to be named later Tading Ralphie Boy to Golden State was also a sh*tty little thing to do.
I'd pass up the playoffs for one year to have Yao Ming and Mo Taylor. Also, even if we missed the playoffs (Francis injury) we would've undoubtedly been in the 10-13 range of the lottery, with virtually no chance at Ming.
Not trading Ralph Sampson for either (a) the rights to Michael Jordan and Clyde Drexler, or (b) Michael Jordan himself.
Passing up Webber, is looking good now, that he did not do too much this past season. His prime is already passing. One of the worst was probably Cato. But even with all the mistakes the Rockets have made, they have been able to come out on top once again, and things are looking great for the future. If we did not sign, Cato with that big contract, we would not have Ming now, which may end up being a great franchise player to carry us to a Championship. Signing Cato, also helped us get rid of a over the hill Hakeem and make the team poor enough, to get that first pick in Ming. Now..... from here on out, a mistake will probably eliminate a chance of a championship in the next 3 years. So from here on out it is crucial. I believe in the Rockets will do the right things, until after the Championships once again. Time to start enjoying the Ride!!!
For one year? How about for years to come. Im as high on Ming as anyone...but I can assure you of one thing...If/when we make the playoffs, it will have very little to do with Mo T's 5 rebounds per game and matador defense.
Rodney McCray over Drexler. They didn't want to be blinded by hometown bias and passed a hall of famer At least the hometown bias worked the next year. Well, except for jordan and all, but still it worked well enough.
What planet were on this past season? He averaged 24/10/4.5 for the season...playoffs included Think before you type
Bibby saved Webber this past season. He still is producing, but not at the level of two years ago. Webber is now become more like a SF, Offensively Webber more and more, just likes to stay outside and shoot, instead of driving down low, I think he is scared to get hurt again. Webber has one more good year left, his last great year was 2 years ago. Hopefully MoT can give us a couple good seasons and then retrade him because Mo will still have some value. Where Webber in 2 years may really start washing up.(injuries) Injuries are going to continue for Webber, because his frontcourt load will keep increaseing, unless the Kings get some help for him. Divac is getting old...And Pollard does not cut it.
Unless Bibby pulled Webber from a fire that I was unaware of... 01-02 24.5 ppg/10.1 rpg/4.8 apg 99-00 24.5 ppg/10.5 rpg/4.6 apg were you talking about these #'s or was he producing some TV shows in 1999 that I'm unaware of that have since been cancelled? good one introducing...Carnac
Well this trade got us past Seattle ( which the preceding group could not) and without a Barkley injury we would have beaten the Jazz and then proceeded to whip the Bulls. I can understand the feelings you had for these players since some of them won Championship but sometimes it needs to a business decision and not sentimental one. Worst decision...one word... CATO
