anyone know anything about it? I need a new car and it looked nice! Not that expensive either i think.
Props to the marketing team at Kia. That was a great advertising technique, more effective than 10 ads during the game would have done.
Kia's were about the crapiest, most unreliable cars you could buy a few years go. Since Hyundai took them over, they've become a bit more reliable. I think they've managed to nab an old Audi designer for some of their new designs. I still wouldn't touch one without some history of reliability. Just because it's cheap now doesn't mean you won't keep paying for it in terms of repairs down the road.
Prices start around $19,000, but the one you saw on TV is not stock, obviously. The rims they had on it plus the moon roof would raise the price a bit, plus whatever extras were inside it. Whether or not is was just pimping the product, Chuck sure seemed to like it.
^The Audi designer is Peter Schreyer who designed the new Audi TT. He's currently Kia's chief designer. He's responsible for introducing the corporate grill Kias have now-a-days, the "Tiger Nose." He designed the new Optima. I also think it looks nice but, from what I've heard, the rear seat visibility's bad and the power's still laggy.
i think they said it was the official car of the all-star game? Or the NBA? either way, Griffin probably told the league he needed a car in there and they told him it had to be a kia.
