I doubt the Rockets expect him to contribute a whole lot. As rocketpower2 pointed out his $3.3M expiring will come in handy at the deadline as a trade filler.

I'm surprised no one remembers Shved quietly carving up the Rockets when he was with the Timberwolves. Like another poster has said, this is just like the Lowry deal. He may not turn out to be as good as Lowry but he is sneaky good.
I don't think he even cracks the rotation. He can't shoot and he's not a good defender. Who's he going to take minutes from? If you didn't want Rondo because he couldn't shoot, not sure what you see in Shved. He a future trade asset at best.
