Are NBA teams allowed to have long haired coaches?

I'm wondering why we've been hearing about scola to Houston for a couple of years now. Does he really have that good of a relationship with McHale? Retiring as a rocket is good and all, but why? Is his family still in Houston?

I'm only asking because we treated him "worse" than dragic ("basketball reasons" + amnesty) and was with McHale for only a year yet one of them hates us for it.

Neither of those guys will be in the league in 10 years....Canaan probably won't be in the league in 5 years.

Posted this elsewhere I think but he posted a PER of 18 TRB of 18%. For a backup that's quite good. And, as mentioned above, he's the perfect mentor for D Mo.

My (politically incorrect) reply (of the day/week/year): The Spurs do.

I'm all in for trading TJ + parts for Lawson and then signing Scola for spot minutes behind D-Mo and Smith

Scola played very well for Indy down the stretch last year and is still capable for a contending team

The Rockets represent one of the best chances for Scola to get a ring.

Would love to have him back. #heart

Stretch 4 that can consistently hit from 10-15 feet out and defend well? Sign me up. Dmo, Jones, smith, seems like smiths the odd man out given his contract situation

I agree and would love to have him back. The guy can still play. Don't know if there's anything to the report, though.

    Viva Scola!

Well his contract is up and he's at the end of his career, odds are he doesn't want to end it in Indiana, so I think it's very likely that he ends up here. Especially if Smith isn't back or the Rockets are planning on dumping Jones on someone. I wouldn't want Scola in a very big role, but as a #3 PF, you can do a lot worse....hell we did a lot worse last season.

I think he'd like to come back. I believe that part of the report, but I don't know who's coming back from last season that plays his position. We've got Donuts and Jones along with, quite possibly, Smith. Yeah, if one leaves the reservation in a deal, then he'd be a great fit here, in my opinion.

All I want, and all I have ever wanted, is to hear Bill commentate on Scola's post moves again.

"The ice cram man give me a scoop!"

    "Scola with the Argentinian tango!"

Yeah I don't deny the report in the notion that there is mutual interest, but until it's inked on paper after other moves are made, I think we should temper expectations.

If Scolas camp is operating under the assumption that he's only prepared to get league min offers than sure, coming back to Houston makes sense. However dont overly assume the market for him could change and even a last minute BAE offer changes his direction and decision making. Whose to say anyone is willing to turn down an extra two million bucks ever... Would any of you turn down an extra 80k a year at your jobs if you got a last minute offer that wasn't with the job you were about start your first day with?

Let's just see what happens first before getting too excited.
