His post game is better than Howards or Josh Smith.

Yeah I'm actually excited about Scola coming back as well. He can play when he needs to. You know the effort will be there. He game never game from any sort of athletism, he's more crafty on the blocks so I'd imagine he's got another year or two of good minutes. He's definitely an improvement over Jones and can mentor DMo.

Go back to the 2009 series vs the Lakers. You pair Scola/Landry up with a solid quick pg that has game and they'll do their nifty post moves and score everytime. I just don't know how much he's got left.

scola would be a great veteran pickup - the younger guys could learn from his post moves.

LOL, if they can't learn from McHale and Hakeem... He will return to actually play and help in the post.

I don't understand the objections to bringing back Scola. The signing is likely for the minimum salary, with basically zero impact on the team's ability to pursue bigger moves in the market. If all that Scola does is to serve as injury insurance and mentor for younger players, giving him one of the 15 roster spots is well worth it.

As for the PFs currently on the roster, there is no guarantee any of them-- Or any player on the roster right now-- will still be on the roster next season. A lot can happen. The team may well need Scola for some minutes, or they might not. Doesn't matter at minimum salary, though. It's not like there are many great options out there.

I'm thinking a good year or possibly two? I mean his game never was about being able to outrun or outjump anybody. He's just crafty. He knows how to play. He'd be a great addition.

There are 5 spots on the roster where in an ideal situation those guys don't play.

    Agree
and Scola brings winning mentality and champioship experiece.
And I think he can play with Dwight Howard very well together.

Luis was a favorite player when we had him. He plays with so much passion. He loves Houston and we love him.

35 Year old power forward that has blocked 193 shots in 631 career games. I'm not ecstatic. Sure he was great in the 2009 run but he was 29 then.

Scola on vet min sounds good. His "Per 36" numbers are about the same as Smith and Tjones. Slightly more points, rebounds. Better FT%.

One of jones or smith will not be here next season, scola would be a great pickup as a #3 pf, locker room guy and vet
