I like Verajao as more of a perfect backup for Howard. Mostly i would want to get a young player or picks. The perfect scenario would be to get Verajao, Waiters/Bennett and a pick.
Trade Lin and Asik to the Celtics for Kris Humphries, Bogans (both expring) and picks (whatever we can get). Sign Monroe and Gortat or Stephenson in the off-season and become legit contenders. He is getting kinda old, don't know how many seasons he has left in him....so I doubt it would last for long if they do get him.

I'm offended that Cavs fans are turning their noses up at the idea of Asik for Varejao. That deal is one for us to turn up our noses at, thankyouverymuch.
Now Verajao would be the perfect PF next to Dwight when they face Portland again. This is one of the teams that we won with the TT's lineup. Verajao would give us a better look.
He would be a good rental this season, and I don't care if we lose him in free agency. If we get a pick or we can somehow manage to get rid of Lin too in the deal without taking back any other salary then I'm down. 2014 Monroe or bust!
I'm sort of surprised they didn't give him an extension. Drummond gets more of the hype lately, but Monroe is the guy I'd want to build around long-term.
Cavs wont a centre who can't play next to Bynum who is willing to sit if he isn't the starter. This trade isn't happening. Aldrige assumes the only thing holding a deal up is the date when Asik is able to be traded. If that is true then it is more likely for Milsap.

We are throwing Waiters in because the Cavs have been trying to get rid of him lately. So he will likely be included in the trade. D-Mo would probably be going in the trade with Asik.
Varajao is a poor man's Joakim Noah. He could be good as a "hustle" guy, as we currently do not have a big that is known for that. Not really a huge fan of Andy but it would probably work well.
honestly, Varejao (healthy) > Asik. He was putting up stats that Asik can only dream of when he was healthy last year.
