Great job OS. I am approaching 1 year without cigs. It is a difference maker to not be controlled by chemical dependencies.
That's hard to do! Congrats. I can imagine it was definitely a one day at a time thing, and maybe that's understated...
Congrats OmegaSausage. It took guts to post that message years ago but now it's a testament of spirit and triumph over what you had felt years ago. It's not what happens but how we each act from it. Awesome stuff man.
Good stuff, OS. I know this is an obvious statement, but alcohol is some seriously wicked stuff. I went 6 weeks without drinking a few months ago, just to take a break and see how the other side lived. Literally, EVERYTHING in my life improved. Better Sleep? Check. Better Moods? Check More Sociable? Check, even out at bars with friends who were drinking! I had more fun not drinking and was much more social. Stronger Virility? Check. Better Decision Maker? Check. The list goes on, but you get the point. There was not one thing that was better when in the throws of drinking regularly. And yet, I jumped at the opportunity to return to the less fulfilling version of life first chance I got while on business travel. Wicked Stuff!
yep... this is the reason i totally did this board. a lot of good folks here. didn't expect people here to understand how liquor is like crack for some people. definitely a day at a time. btw, glad to hear that tv is still around and holding up somewhere. lol. plot twist: the real reason i sold the TV... i already read the tv guide.
thx. treatment center. intracare initially, but sent to memorial hermann prevention and recovery center soon after (the latter is what made a difference). aa is continues to work for me. calling a someone regularly and working with folks who were in the same position i was.
