I thought the outrage over not signing AJ was over the top initially, but my tune has changed. Bringing back both Cushing and Joeseph while letting AJ walk was inexcusable. Especially now that they will most likely release those two and have to spend big and gamble on some other FA DB. I’m very worried about next season’s secondary. There’s money avalable that can be spent in FA, but draft picks are scarce and the O-Line will likely be the highest priority. Rick Smith has some decent experience witch patching up leaks in the past, but it sure would be nice if he learned to maintain the roster before the leaks even happen. Especially with knowing that we’re stuck with him for the forseable future. I’m no longer hoping for Smith to be replaced, that’s unrealistic. Now I’m just hoping for him to be better.
I think so. I mean, signing Brock got him a 3 year extension. At this point we need to push the owner out
Cap is going up 11 million. Trumaine Johnson is going to get paid while being worse and making more than AJ Boyue. Ouch.
I agree. Stop attending, watching, and paying attention to the team. Certainly worked with Uncle Drayton.
PSLs are paid for. Tickets are sold out with 30,000 wait list. Local media never holds the GM accountable. We live in Rickville.
Show me John McClain's or Jerome Solomon's or Brian T Smith's article calling for Rick Smith to be fired? In the headline, "Time For The Texans To Move On From Rick Smith"... where is it? Where are the articles questioning the decision making of Bob and Cal McNair? The ones where the tell them to stick to golf and country clubs and fine dining and let football people make football decisions? Yeah, not there. Like it's Bill O'Brien's fault for giving Jacksonville an All Pro in Bouye. And Bill O'Brien who froze out Duane Brown. Wake up. These media are not fans of your football team. They're owned by Rick McNair just like the Texans are. McClain writes what Smith feeds him to write. Solomon and Smith do Smith's dirty work on command -- content and date.
Give it up man. Dude was insanely good this year. It was a mistake to let him go. You can admit to being wrong once, we’ll still let you do your “I’m smarter than you” schtick
It changes next year and the year after that. It also very well could have figured in Smith’s losing the power struggle to O’Brien this year. The McNair’s aren’t the brightest duo in the NFL, but you can sure as hell bet that Bouye’s success has gotten back to them. Hell if no one else, I am sure O’Brien gave regular accountings of Smith’s massive screw up.
