Shameful. There's been an anti-police atmosphere in America created, and it's disgusting.

“It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff. So you believe these are the hallmarks of more than one person’s involvement,” Ms. Whitfield said while speaking with CNN legal analyst Philip Holloway, Mediaite reported.

What's disgusting is that some policeman would be criminals themselves if they weren't given a license to commit egregious crimes that no other civilian is allowed to commit.

Just a bunch of uneducated, untrained, simpletons who are incapable of common sense or common decency.

What's shameful is the police behavior they've gotten away with for years until cameras became so small and cheap they are everywhere now.

You can suck off big bad police all you want but I won't.

you mean like the policeman in Ferguson who was 100% acquitted in the Mike Brown case? And many of the witnesses flat-out lied about what they saw? ...and the senseless, violent protests and looting that resulted over lies?

The authorities are trying to let the cop who shot Tamir Rice off the hook, too. People in positions of power will do whatever it takes to remain in power. The Ferguson case is just one of many, many documented instance of police abuse of power. You're cherry picking a case that suits your argument, and ignoring any possibility of the acquittal being wrong.

but actually the cop was acquitted after all the evidence came out, and many of the witnesses were shown to be liars.

In a single case. Albeit, it was a well-publicized one. The list of reported instances of police brutality is numerous, and there are reports that repeatedly show instances in which the justice system is favoring non-conviction of law enforcement in these cases. If you want to cherry pick a case, why not look at what happened with Tamir Rice, and what the people in Cleveland have had to do to have a slim shot at justice after the folks in power tried to sweep it under the rug.

It's telling that this white guy isn't being called an animal and a thug by the usual suspects considering attempted murder of a police officer is a capital crime. Conservatives should be ashamed of themselves for obstructing the kind of mental health background checks that would stop these kinds of people from building an arsenal of dangerous weapons.

Poor choice of words, but you got to have some balls to attack a police station no?

That's how I also took those comments and by definition those words are technically correct.

Some people are blowing Fredricka Whitfield's comments way out of proportion.

Her word-choice was pretty poor, but this is a silly thing to get worked up over.

In this case, there wasn't even a need for mental health background checks. The guy threatened to shoot up schools and churches a few years ago. That seems like plenty to restrict his right to weapons, regardless of his mental status. I'd be curious to hear the NRA's position on this.

Poor choice of words that are usually associated with admirable connotations. Strip away the admirable connotation and what she said is literally correct. It takes bravery and courage for one man to attack a force.

However, another case of SJW going after stupid "justice" because a vocal mob disagrees.

What's shameful is the gunman is White and the OP goes out of his way to demonize Black people... Color me surprised...!!!

And I'm definitely not surprised to see anyone calling the gunman an animal or thug...

I think it is the opposite, video has shown the bad side of police, too many taking their power for granted and forgetting they are actually working for and PAID FOR by the people.

A lot of common sense, is lost, and too much "Everyone is a perp"ness is going on....

    Wrong

The issue is 99%+ of police officers are doing the right thing. Is there a very small fraction of bad apples, of course, but now we have created an anti-police atmosphere which is very detrimental to the overall efforts of police. And many of the "examples" cited aren't even valid -- like the Mike Brown case where a bunch of liars created a false sense that Mike Brown was shot in the back, etc.
