Paul Pierce and Michael Beasley. If Beasley is given mins he can wreck, and with Vet leadership from Pierce he can really flourish. And both players may only cost 5 mil a season combined

There is not a realistic scenario for a decent replacement at the small forward position. If the Rockets sign and trade for Bosh they will likely use their Trade Exceptions in that scenario. If the Rockets sign Bosh outright they will have to renounce their trade exceptions. It's not impossible that the Rockets still have one 8.5 million trade exception if they receive Bosh in a sign and trade but it's not guaranteed either. On top of that, just because you have a trade exception does not mean someone is going to trade you someone as good as Chandler. Once the Rockets sign Bosh, who cares if Chandler is over paid? Your done making any meaningful moves for this season.
It's really pretty simple. Sign Bosh and then after they sign Bosh, match the Dallas offer sheet to Parsons. The only way they will not be able to match the offer sheet is if the renounce Parsons RFA rights, which they have not done.
I hate the word affordable when dealing with billionaire owners and their money. If the Les wants to win a championship, you don't go bargain shopping.
At this point the options are to match and then we definitely won't have the cap space to sign Bosh or any star player like him or let Parsons walk and risk not being able to sign Bosh, James, or Melo. It is a lose lose situation for us at this point. I don't think Bosh will sign here within the next three days so I am hoping that Morey has moved on to the second tier guys. Guys like Tucker, Deng, Ariza, Hill, shoot even Blatche would be a good pickup.
If we get Bosh: Chandler Parsons. If we get Bosh (or, much better, Lebron James), then you sign Parsons.
Bottom line is Parsons is the only good 3 we can go over the cap to sign after bringing Bosh into the fold. Morey is gonna need to pull a rabbit out of his hat just to execute all these cap clearing trades and sign Bosh within 72 hours. Man, this off-season is really backfiring so far. In Daryl we trust though.
Really? So you are trying to compete for an NBA championship and you decide to sign a player that has never played a single play in the NBA as your small forward to match up against the likes of Durant, Lebron etc..
Lance Stevenson, who is not only tough (ok maybe crazy also), good defender, versatile but would also be able to guard the opponents best wing player. He'd provide much needed toughness to a team sorely lacking in it. With Beverly and Stevenson on the perimeter, the Rockets defense would be much improved. Indiana's offer to him was 5 year 45 million, the Rockets could probably get him for a 5 year 55 million. Thats nearly 5 million per less than what parsons would get.
