If this were an original concept with a new superhero I would agree. However, Wonder Woman has such a rich history and a great collection of previous incarnations. As a result, you have to use whatever budget necessary to make a costume that will be impressive and not take away from the show. This is because what you do will inevitably compared to all the previous costumes and interpretations.

Plus we are talking about a generic wearable costume not a CGI "Gollum" like costume or an outfit with truly bullet proof bracelets and a tiara that can actually fly like a boomerang. Redesigning and actually producing a reasonable costume like Wonder Woman's should not cost that much money. Is it going to be made of albino rhinoceros skin sewn by blind children in Africa?

The outfit, make up, and even the hair remind me of something I would have seen on Power Rangers or some equivalent show for kids.

I agree with you but just from costume and script I read, certainly looks like they won't or can't go in that direction. I worry about David E. Kelly, he has mentioned in the past that this wasn't something he really wanted to do but kind of did his own thing with it. Like his shows but superhero TV series are a different animal, if done wrong...well you end up with The Cape.

I'm all for character development and focusing more on Diana then WW but I don't want it to turn into Sex and the City with superpowers and it reads like it's going in that direction, which makes sense with the costume.

I hear what you are saying and have read the script review that's around, actual shooting is still a ways off and that draft that's been reviewed might have changed since.

At least that's what I'm hoping, while the costume isn't what I expected it's not a huge surprise, I mean the WW costume is incredibly difficult to translate to live action seriously without changing it all together.

I'm going to hold judgement till I see some actual footage at the very least.

Wrong show, it's Ally McBeal with superpowers.

I need to see Wonder Woman in skimpier clothes. This is hardly desirable.

I've been wondering about the costume for some time. Mock up/fake, I guess but this ^^^ still looks pretty damn cool.

Some images of WW in action, can't say I hate it but she kind of looks like a wrestler in the new outfit. I do like they are using red boots and toned down darker blue tights. More images in the link but pretty much same as these.

By the way, I like the fake pic above. I can see that being the movie version of the costume with some modifications and well...the girl is smoking hot.

^ those look a hellva lot better than the original promo release. WW costume was alway going to be problematic, IMO, but I like this coloring.

Hope it's not like the Bionic Woman reboot from a while back. That was horrible.

She look like a city slicker rodeo girl with that bottom.

The only good thing is that they could change the costume any time with this show.
