How in the world are people assuming Gasol is declining?? He's down 2 ppg on a team with Andrew Bynum taking more shots and playing more minutes than ever before, with Kobe Bryant "healthy" AKA shooting ridiculous volume of shots, and in a lockout year where he's been rumored in trades from the very start. I think it's relatively important to factor his circumstances. He is without doubt the most fundamentally sound post player in the league, with excellent versatility defensively and offensively due to his great length. I just don't see how you view him as declining... Moe
1.) Has no measure, nor meaning. Is simply a name they attach to player they hate, just like heart is something they attach to someone they like. 2.) Perhaps, but is an upgrade for maybe the next two years. 3.) Are you kidding me? If Lowry is not involved we are giving up practically nothing. 4.) Unsubstantiated 5.) LOL WE CAN?
If you don't trust their ability to judge talent, then you shouldn't trust that the guy they drafted last year has any...
Quoted for truth. Nothing wrong with Gasol. Shooting over 50% this season, rebounding and blocking shots and passing like he always has. Doesn't rely on athleticism etc etc. NOT in decline - good for at least another few years
Exactly, besides this is a no brainer. We can get Gasol without giving up Lowry is a great trade for houston.
Morris was never as highly touted as Gay was during his college career and coming into the draft, you cannot compare the 2.
I can definitely see the Lakers asking for Morris instead of Martin, who would basically be a 6th man at $12mil Moe

From Eric Pincus' twitter RT @PatrickHarrel: One Rockets front office guy I know: "If Gasol's been traded, it isn't to us. At least not yet."
wow...if you weren't motivated to make this deal before, maybe this will convince you... the double anti-jinx
I don't understand this, and I've never did If there is not another flip and trade deal behind this, I do not see how Gasol is going to resolve our problems.. all we can do is trust Morey in what he does..
I'm not celebrating, the "good god yes" was in support of the hypothetical trade. I thought I made it pretty clear in my post when I said "of course there's no way of actually knowing what the trade is(assuming there even is one)" Do I need to explain that last part to you more clearly or can you just STFU now?
It's not an assumption if it is proven. He is declining, the degree of his decline is still to be seen. Yes, his ppg have gone down 2 points but his turnovers have also gone up - maybe not significantly but considerably.
