This is picking up a bit of steam lately but do you guys think this can happen this offseason? Now i know our biggest need is at PG (really don't think i need to get into it too much here) but if we upgrade our PF with Love and add an a more pure PG in free agency would this more than make up for it? Now a lot of the money side of things get lost on me so I'm gunna need a bit of help to see if this could actually work. So heres the scenario: Love opts in to be traded by the Cavs (Cavs have proven to win without him all of which has been talked about to death) to give another contender team a run before the big cap boom. We get Love, Cavs get Ariza (this hurts me a lot) and K.Pap (Ariza starting next to Lebron and K.Pap to flesh out the bench) this years draft pick and mayyybe a future 1st rounder. We then pick up Lin (who i hated as a Rocket but can still add value to the backcourt plus he knows the system) from free agency for hopefully around the 4-5mil mark. With the remaining Roster we could let Smith go (as much as he's grown on me i have a feeling he'll be looking for a bit more than Houston should be willing to pay for him), hopefully hold onto Bev and Brewer and sign Terry to the veterans minimum. We could then trade away Jones and the Knicks 2nd rounder for another backup at small forward. Cavs get: Ariza K.Paps #18 in the draft possible future 1st rounder Rockets get: Kevin Love Jeremy Lin - Free agency Re-sign Brewer Resign Terry backup Small Forward Rockets: Dwight/Capella/Dorsey Love/D-Mo Brewer/KJ/Another backup Harden/Johnson Lin/Bev/Terry

Ugh...here we go... 1) Cavs would never do that trade 2) Lin is not coming back, and even if he did, why the hell would he suddenly start over Bev??? I thought we were done with the LOFs!

First, it's unlikely it happens this offseason, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in 2016. Second, in a trade, Love would cost us a minimum of Ariza, DMo, and the NOP 1st.
Cleverly disguised Lin thread. If Lin returns to the Rockets as a player, I'm done with the Les/Morey combination. Threads every day about how they're both idiots. That being said, I currently think both are brilliant. So a lot can change if you sign Jeremy Lin as a player. But if they can sign this guy to protect the rim......
