I sort of understand why not everyone can search old threads/posts, but why do I not have the ability to at least see MY OWN past posts. As it stands right now, I always get some message about not having enough privileges to see a list of my own commentary. Maybe I'm just not using the tools available to me correctly, but it's very frustrating and inefficient to dig up posts manually and keep conversations going. There's just too many threads and posts to keep up with in the GARM.
I'm not asking to be able to search everyone's commenting histories as that would just bog down the servers. All I want is to be able to see a list of comments I've made in the past ~24 hrs for the sake of conversation and not having to flip through 10 pages of a thread to find my post.
Check your control panel (link at top of page for User CP) I believe the bbs subscribes you to threads you reply to by default and when you look at your control panel, there is a list of subscribed threads.
I don't think you guys have that set to default. Does this only apply to members that have registered after you have implemented this auto-subscribe?
all I know is that I don't recall ever setting subscribed thread options, and my control panel shows all threads I have responded to that have new replies. There is also a link at the bottom of that area to see all subscribed threads.
Strange, mine was turned off. Well thanks for the headsup regardless. Reminded me to go to my options and enable the feature!
Yeah, it's not set to do that as a default, at least not on my account. Not sure how to turn it on, but I would if given the option.
User CP, Edit Options, turn on thread notifications This link should pull up subscribed threads. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/subscription.php
Click on User CP, Click on Your Profile (on the left hand side), Click on Statistics, Click on Find All Posts by ____. It will show a list of lots of your posts, but probably not all of them.
This was EXTREMELY helpful. It appears to no longer be by default, as someone else may have mentioned. However, not too difficult to turn on!! REP 4 YOU!
