I find it really strange that this is headline news everywhere, both in sports outlets and general news outlets. A scumbag (by all accounts) killed himself in a jail cell. Okay. He wasn't even that famous before he got stupid with a gun. Anyway, in terms of him being a "coward" ... eh, I don't know. It's one thing to kill yourself with a gun but another thing to string yourself up properly. And it seems he may have been doing this for his loved ones left behind, so that they'd have a financial future. If that's the case...
That would be a pretty unethical thing for his lawyer to do, imo. I'd rather not immediately jump to the conclusion that this lawyer I don't know is a scumbag. As I understand it, vacating the conviction means the family won't be able to rest on the work already done by the criminal court in proving his guilt to win a civil suit. But, they can still bring suit, they'd just have to prove again that Hernandez was at fault. Sucks to do it again, but the burden of proof is also lower in a civil case, so it should be doable. So, the victim's family can still probably get paid in the end. And, it's another reason why a financial motive for suicide doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The simpler and more likely scenario to me was that he was very depressed about what he had done and/or what his future held, and he decided it wasn't worth going on.
Just a defense lawyer. Defense lawyers sometimes defend bad people. I read the wiki on him, which was interesting. He became a father at age 12 and dropped out of school. He'd since had to basically claw his way up, getting a GED, joining the Navy, going to community college, then university, then law school. Even then he couldn't pass the bar for 8 years because of financial irresponsibility. That he is now a defense lawyer getting such high profile cases with a history like that shows some grit at least.
Because he doesn't care about them or anyone else. He thought he was a god. Now whatever happens after you die he is dealing with that and perhaps realizing the pain he has caused to people now and in the future.

Media is petty for this. Why are they slandering his reputation. He is innocent and sacrificed himself for the better of his family to an njustice system. Reminds me of when Vegeta blew himself up along with Majin Buu to save humanity.
