Technically, what Aaron is doing isn't bribery. A bribe is something given in advance, so if Aaron was giving them $35 in exchange for their promise to get As, that would be a bribe. But giving a kid $35 for getting an A isn't a bribe - it's a reward (or to be super technical, positive reinforcement). And pretty much everyone agrees that positive reinforcement is the single most effective way to encourage behavior in anyone. Aaron is simply acting as a surrogate reinforcer for these kids.
Aarron Brooks is a very humble person. It is nice to know he is working hard trying to get better. I hope he is not included in any of the Sign and Trade scenarios for Bosh. If we can get Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Rondo then I will be okay trading Brooks.
Well, maybe without the defense and the avid willingness to knock the crap out of you at the drop of a hat!
I love reading these kinds of stories, especially when most of the other threads are pure speculation about where you-know-who wants to go. I hope Brooks continues to develop -- he really does have all-star level potential.
Precisely, and that is how the real world is supposed to work as well. If you do the work and do it well, you get raises and bonuses and paid. If not, you get fired. It would be nice for them to like to study and get good grades, but how many people are actually like that and that passion does not apply to most jobs these days.
I was just ribbing you a bit from your previous posts about being a police officer etc. No offense intended...just having a laugh. DD
Great article, thanks for posting. And yeah it would be nice to have some national games this year. I know last year without Yao nobody wanted to have the Rockets on besides the occasional NBATV game. Living in Maine it's tough to see a lot of games. NBA League Pass Mobile for my iPhone worked pretty well though.
Glad so many people enjoyed the break from the LeBron soap opera...even if our major upgrade is getting Yao back, I'd be happy not to lose guys like AB, Bud, Hill, etc.
