While I understand Brooks' love for Seattle, I tried to imagine what it would be like if he was a NY native and said the same about NY, while a Rocket. Can't say I would like to see that, as a fan.

I guess it's easier to ignore because the Sonics name is no longer used.

Awesome, they should sell those customized so we can add the good old Abdul-Rauf, Pack, Mutombo, McDyess on the back!

I know that...my point was, it's easy to ignore because they are OKC now, but what if Parsons was a Utah boy and on the day we did our throwbacks he tweeted a similar comment along with #gojazz. Would fans just ignore it too because he's from there?

Parsons has mentioned many times that the Orlando Magic were his team growing up. Mentioned always going to games there growing up.

    So what....

Ronnie Price grew up a huge Rockets fan from Friendswood back through the glory years, and had to play for years in Utah.

If he had to put on a Stockton jersey himself, and play against the Rockets I'm sure he'd play and play his a#$ off for Utah because thats who employed his services, but deep down in there it doesn't change who his favorite team was, and probably still is now.

Only in this case, the Sonics dont even exist anymore.... so who really cares. He loved his Sonics, and isn't ashamed to admit it, and the Nugget are paying him to play basketball now.

It's different because the Sonics no longer exist so he's not rooting against his current team. If he was rooting for the Thunder he would have said "go thunder" which would be uncalled for.

I'm not saying it should be a huge deal, but it is an awkward thing to do.

But he's never rooted for them as a Rocket, that i know of, and he's never singled out the 95 finals either (he was only 7 at the time, anyway)...so this is different. Or would he still get a pass, if he tweeted "go magic" the day Houston wore throwbacks to honor the 95 team?

Dude grew up in Seattle. And just started playing for the nuggets.

    No long term deal.

    Nothing to scoff about here

I don't think he would've done it had the Sonics still been around.

How different would the Thunder be right now if they were still in Seattle, a bigger market?

All I can see is Durant, Westbrook, and Harden in green.

What if Parsons was a Utah Jazz fan? What a terrible hypothetical to bring up. Why not say "what if Parsons worshipped the devil?" or "What if Parsons was a serial killer?" while you are at it?
