They aren't likely to get rid of Hinch before next year but I'm just not feeling Hinch. A lot of folks on here thinks it's overreacting to question Hinch at this point but whatever. He's doing a bad job down the stretch.
Well, this year Yankees don't have a good team, and they will make the playoffs. Twins don't have a good team, and looks like they weil make the playoffs. Rangers are not a good team, but looks like they are making the playoffs. The difference is managers. I've seen those 3 managers and make few mistakes. After seeing the 6 games vs Twins, Molitor made just 1 big mistake, taking the starter too early in one of the games, the Duffy game. Girardi, well, he is a very good manager. Bannister, in games seeing, the guy makes good decisions. Our manager, well, too many mistakes. Banister has Hamels vs a no name bullpen that is just average, so he goes with hamels until he has nothing left. Hinch does the opposite, goes early to a struggling bullpen when your starter is pitching a VERY GOOD GAME, where the Rangers did not had good contact against him. He brings Harris, and first 2 hitters have GREAT HARD contact against him. Those 3 teams are in good hands with their skippers, we are NOT.
Wait....what? Talent wise, there is no big differences between the Astros and the three teams you mentioned when you look at overall quality of the teams. At this point, the Astros are two games worse than the Yankees, two games better than the Twins and essentially the same as the Rangers. Why is it that they all have better managers and Hinch should be fired?
Most fans would be thrilled if the Astros broke 500, before the season starts. Now most fans want to fire the manager for not being 10 games over 500 and with an easy path to the playoffs. Everybody needs to get a grip.
having to mix and match line ups when 70% of our line up can barely hit .230, while 2 months without springer, and still in first place..that's just as impressive as any other managerial accomplishment.
by overall, do you mean the course of the regular season where the team has made one of the most impressive rise to relevance out of absolutely nowhere? the team that has suffered through injuries to key players, bringing young players up and shuffling the deck through it all? or by overall, do you mean the past two weeks where we've had tough losses against strong arms and our youth at the plate is showing? just checking, because i'm not sure you know the definition.
talk about people being greedy, we were happy to be .500 or better this year...now Hinch is in the running to win manager of the year geez people
His lineups aren't working why put 2 lefthanded hitters in the game against Hamels it doesn't add up when he has two other righthanded hitters sitting on the bench.
Which two right handers would that be? The rookie who just got to the majors? The guy that is hurt? Chris Carter?
Yea AJ Hinch has to go...I mean the guy has taken the team with clearly the most talent in baseball (right??) and can barely get it into 1st place And while Luhsenow got all this talent together, if he can't see how horrible our manager is he should lose his job too, right? I mean if luhsenow can't figure that part out then he clearly isn't hte man for the job, right?? Ok so fire Luhsenow so that we can hire someone who would fire the hincher Then we have Crane, if he thinks Luhsenow is the man for the job then we have to figure out a way to get MLB to force him to sell the club. We can probably come up with some racial issues in his past to get him to be forced to sell, right? I mean these three guys are driving this franchise into the ground, as Astros fans we CAN NOT take this anymore, we must make a stand Astros Fans Lives Matter
Care to look up what Hamels numbers have been against lefties over the last 3 months? I guarantee you if there were no lefties in the lineup... these would be brought up in a complaining fashion.
