How is this for a second post. I proof-read it, so I shouldn't have any typos.

Houston trades: SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes)
SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes)
Houston receives: SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
PG Brevin Knight (3.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 16.9 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SF Shane Battier (9.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 30.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +3.3 ppg, +1.9 rpg, and +3.7 apg.

Memphis trades: SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
PG Brevin Knight (3.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 16.9 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SF Shane Battier (9.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 30.6 minutes)
Memphis receives: SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 62 games)
    C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 73 games)
SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 73 games)
Change in team outlook: -3.3 ppg, -1.9 rpg, and -3.7 apg.

    Houston

PG- Steve Francis/ Brevin Knight/ Moochie Norris
    SG- Wesley Person Eric Piatkowsky
SF- Shane Battier/ Andran Griffin/ Bostjan Nachbar
    PF-Stromile Swift/Eddie Griffin/ Maurice Taylor
    C-Yao Ming/ Jason Collier(resign, or get another back-up center)

    Memphis

    PG-Jason Williams/ Troy Bell
    SG-Cuttino Mobley/ Michael Dickerson/ Dahntay Jones
    SF-James Posey/Mike Miller
    PF-Pau Gasol/Mike Batiste
    C-Kelvin Cato/ Lorenson Wright

Both teams improve under this trade, at least I think they improve.

Sorry, TheBigMoe, but this trade has been hashed and thrashed out already. But I didn't see any typos. I don't think we would make a trade within the division anyway, although it could be argued that this one might be worth it. ;)

And welcome to the BBS. :)

Because he misspelled Piatkowski? Or because he managed not to include Moochie in the deal. Personally, I think THAT was the deal-breaker. :p

This is a good trade that probably does benefit both teams, but will likely not happen. And it has been hashed out a number of times over the past few months.

How'd we get Person in our lineup?

Jason Collier signed with a Greek team, didn't he?

I would never call a trade a blockbuster trade when the best player involved is Cuttino Mobley

Again, what is the facination of Stromile Swift? Especially at the expense of Eddie Griffin? (I know in this trade you are not trading Griffin but I have seen him dreamcast traded in other scenarios). I just don't understand it. I mean, if you want to talk about Rashard Lewis or SAR or Brian Grant that is one thing...but Swift? Why do people want to bring him to this team? Does he do anything than Griffin does not? Perhaps, Swift is a better rebounder (and if so, not by much) but Griffin is a better shot blocker and a better offensive player. I just don't see why this team would want Swift of all possible PFs out there.

Cat is far and away the best player in this trade. As such, it is a pretty good bet that we are not getting the better end of this deal. Not only that, but Cato is as valuable as anyone Memphis is giving up. If Memphis threw in next years #1 unprotected I would feel better about it.

Man are you outta your damn mind?????? You would make Memphis a much better team by giving away quality and size for marginal players in return. NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Which one of those players was a quality player?

I would rather have Shane Battier than Mobely and would defenitely want Stro over Cato even if Stro had to play center.

Stro is better than Griff. Stro has struggled to get minutes behind SAR and Gasol but when he plays he shines.

He's a tweener anyways. I say send Eddie on an eating spree. May be able to make him half the size of the big old Oliver Miller!

i don't think Houston should do this, but Memphis sure as hell should. It's rape. It's anal rape at that.

The Grizz won how many games last year? And we're going to start 3 of their former players? And Yao is how much better than Pau? And Steve is how much better than JDub? And we're going to pay MoT nearly $8m to be a 3rd sting PF?

The trade won't fly for any other reason than Jerry West knows Lo Wright is a better center than Cato. And West is not going to tie up $13+m for Cato and Wright to play the 5.
