Too lazy to google - is Marshon Brooks still in the league? I picked Shumpert. Haven't watched Knicks / Cavs game all that much this season. Does this statement still considered sound? "Not quite as good as Kawhi on offense, but is every bit as good as Kawhi on defense."
I like Vucevic but his game does not fit best with the Rockets. This team needs all its players, including the 5, to run. Leonard or Faried would be much better fits. If Rockets wanted BPA, then Leonard. If a PF, then Faried.
I voted Marshawn Brooks. Feel free to never pay attention to my input regarding draft picks ever again.
I voted Faried. And I'm still satisfied with that choice. Kawhi appears to have been the BPA, but we needed a PF at the time. And who would have guessed that he would have become the NBA Finals MVP in 2014 playing for SA?
With 20/20 hindsight, Kawhi Leonard was probably the right choice. Many considered him a top 10 talent, but questions about his offensive potential dropped him down the draft.
I was excited about having him on the Rockets, but his weak outside shooting made me doubt his offensive potential. In hindsight, he would have been the best choice for us.
I picked Leonard and I also picked Rashard Lewis over Bryce Drew and Mirsad Turckan back in the day. You know where to find me Moraly.
Ditto on both counts. I was pretty damn furious on draft night in 2011 when the Rockets passed up on Kawhi Leonard to take Marcus Morris. I eventually came to terms with the reasoning behind the Rockets' selection of Morris, but I've always held that they should've taken Leonard. The Rashard Lewis fiasco in 1998 was just horrible. Sure, you take Michael Dickerson at #14 over Lewis at the time. But Drew (admittedly a phenomenal shooter) and Turkcan probably would've fallen to the late first/second round. It was dumb of the Rockets to pass up on a raw talent like Lewis then; and it's STILL dumb that they didn't take him. (See, everyone! I *can* be critical of Rockets' management!!!)
Morris can shoot the three and not much else. Unlike Patterson, he never turned into a good rotation player on the Suns. Personally, I think Morris was probably Morey's second worst pick behind White, maybe third if you count Dorsey. Lamb was pretty bad too on hindsight. But he was shipped out before anyone knew for sure what he could do.
