Obama's speech. I have an issue or two with some things he said, but he far exceeded my expectations as I very much agreed with and enjoyed almost all of it.

Typical arrogant bull schit from Obama. Taking no blame for Stevens' death. "Not my fault!"

Funny how Obama's now actually attending his intel briefings...

Harry S Truman - The buck stops here.

Barack Hussein Obama - The buck stops here, to some extent.

What should he have said in his speech? I'm not understanding your point.

    Spot on.

And this attitude of not taking responsibility is extremely detrimental to the nation. It is leading people into a sense of entitlement and that they aren't accountable for their own actions. This runs completely counter to those who made the US what it is today.

Well, he should not have said this:

He should have re-worded it like this:

Was the way he phrased it offensive? How ironic.

    I see.

So, I have a follow-up question for you, then. Would it be wrong to describe a movie which asserts that The Holocaust did not happen as "offensive"? Or should it instead be described as "A movie which some consider offensive"?

Yes. but what's going on here is a blatant attempt to pander to the riff raff that killed Amb. Stevens and that sucks. He needs to go all in in defending the American vision of free speech without equivocation. Instead he half asses it - probably because he does not believe in it himself.

Surely you don't believe that the people who committed those attrocities are the only ones who were offended by that movie.

Even more than bigtexx (who disappears every time someone makes an argument) and basso (who just copy/pastes whatever low IQ Republican talking points he can find on the nearest blog), you make some of the most asinine remarks I've seen on this board. I am uncomfortable with the notion that people like you vote.

I don't give a crap who was offended by it. America is not an offense free zone, and I hope it is not on the verge of becoming one. I was offended by the Piss Christ - a work of "art" that was actually funded by my government. I did not riot.
