Our Rockets place 6th on the NBA Watchability Scale 4.0 per Mike Prada at SBN. http://www.sbnation.com/2012/10/30/3526092/nba-watchability-scale-preview-2012
Not surprising. Between Harden, Asik and Lin the Rockets have become must watch NBA TV. Don't be surprised if we get late adds into the national schedule... especially if we play half decently into the all star break.
I don't really care for this. What's "hilarious" about Royce? It's not like he'll be riding his bus on the court, and anxiety attacks aren't funny period. And Omer will surprise people with his offense. Screw them.
Rockets were bad/mediocre for more than a few years, with low wattage players. Rockets have some nationally televised games this year... at least more than last year. Dec 17 - @NY - NBA TV Dec 25 - @Chi - ESPN Jan 23 - vsDen - NBA TV Feb 13 - @LAC - NBA TV Mar 8 - @GSW - ESPN Mar 15 - vsMin - NBA TV With Harden just added, don't be surprised if they add Houston to some of the reserve spots (national TV contracts always have a few games set aside for flexibility that they can switch). And if we play well, we could get a lot more TV coverage when you factor in the NBA Viewer requested games.
Chuck Hayes really came into his own on offense in his last year with us. Don't get me wrong. He was no James Harden, but he was such a threat passing from the elbow that his defenders would often be so focussed on the players making curl and backdoor cuts that he'd be able to beat his man off the dribble for easy layups. I really think a lot of people underrate Chuck Hayes on the offensive end. Adelman's offense often ran through him, and they try to do the same in Sacramento.
I don't really consider NBATV "national" TV. Anyway, I sure hope that they will add a few more because of Harden. I thought they would have more because of Lin, but I was wrong.
Keep in mind, these schedules were mostly finalized prior to Free Agency, which was PRIOR to the Lin trade. It's part of why NY has so many nationally televised games. Several of those games were added at the last minute. This changes further as the season goes on. If Lin is playing well, guaranteed we get more games. Even without Harden, if Lin has a good year, they would add even more games for next year.
they named that category weird. 'hilarity'. they explain that category as basically 'something unusual, unique, quirky'. White is certainly unique on the court.
