Exactly. I am surprised so many people don't realize how much advantage an extra man gives you, especially on the pro level. If you leave a guy at the other end of the floor on defense, the opponent will have no choice but leave a man behind to guard the cherry picking and essentially play 4 on 5. On offense, you always have a man open. On the NBA level, that's just too much. Even guys like Hayes can score easily from good play making penetration. Imagine you don't need a creator and still have a man open all the time.
Miami would still win: 8 vs 6 Serious answer: Cavs would win everytime. 1 extra player is a huge advantage. NBA players only bad because they're fighting against NBA players, the average nba player would look like MJ against ordinary people so they're actually pretty capable. On defense you can double LBJ and still man to man, while on O nobody can cover 2 people at once.
Just need to make the game 5:4 in some way. that way you get more space for your players. Choose a fast guy and athletic guy, play zone defense, let him play at the top of the 3 point line, whenever Miami shoots, he runs toward their basket. Your center and forward will get the defensive rebound(if there's any), outlet it to the guy who should already be at the other side of the court, easy layup/dunk. And having one more player to play zone defense will be very hard to score on. It basically takes away layups and most of the open jump shots.
Those of you who say Cavs will sweep: As I asked on the OP, if it will be that easy, how far can we push this? 6 college players? 6 high schoolers? 6 WNBA players? 6 Ryan Bowens?
I say the cavs because think about it you play 5 on 5 on one end and have a cherry picker just chillin on the other side of the court i mean you just cant stop that its like a KEVIN MARTIN fastbreak............ALLL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
