One of the death lineup did not rest on back 2 backs, and Draymond was closer to being 6'8. Spacing was also much better. This is the first time MD just copied something that was originally his Suns team without a dominating PF Stoudemire. A worse version of the Worriers.
I guess it works fine in limited minutes, the 16 rebounds by Harden was an anomaly but alas, a positive sign from him. Luka would have had his day in the 4th Quarter for sure. The Mavs were missing Dwight Powell more than they admit.
Russ is our point center Harden is a stretch 4’ Pj guards the best perimeter player and helps in the paint on switches Gordon/house/mclemore/rivers are 3&D Small ball , 7 man rotation ... a championship formula
But Durant is a perimeter player, plays outside in. GSW first championship their death line up had no one taller than 6'7 Steph - 6'2 Klay - 6'5 Iggy - 6'5 Barnes - 6'7 Draymond - 6'6 And Draymond was their center.
Curry was injury prone even back then. And Draymond was barely 6'6 (listed at 6'7 but even Kerr has joked that Green cannot be more than 2" taller than Kerr's height of 6'2.5), facts are easily verifiable so don't just buy the BS.
I guess, one point for you. But you forgot their Defense was much better, more locked in, consistent. And their spacing was also much better, the off the ball movements were crisp to perfection at times. They had elite alltime great shooters, we have slightly above average shooters with a non shooter in WB. Their stars rarely average 4-6 Turnovers a game. Something you cannot really copycat 1 to 1. I guess this Rox team has a knack for rebounding and running but that's all. It was beyond the height thing (well whether some guy is 6'6 or 6'7)........but skills on the defensive side.
I agree with the defense and shooting points but you and I both know that CF and the media hate small ball because it is unfamiliar. Smallball works, Rockets just need to tweak personnel.
The only asset is Capela, and he isn't in top condition. We'll see what he can net us. Or else some minor tweaks. Ben Mac has been a surprise, but Danuel House is just a glorified Dleaguer right now. You cannot win big with him on the biggest of stages. Rivers also is not as good as he has been last year.
Aren't you same guy pushing to re-sign Kenneth Faried? You do realize that he is a 6'7 center, right?
agree w/ ur concerns. I reviewed the game 111:139, nop defeating mem, who was almost crushed by nop. I can't imagine what can we do while nop put Ingram, Zion, ball, holiday, and redick (Moore) on floor, will our small ball lineup get the upper hand?! gotta check the answer on Mon (we better sit CC)
Well obviously they had a superior roster. But his point about small = Championship is correct. It does work given the right players.
Kerr and management did the right thing, tinkering with the system where everyone is moving and covering for someone. Not stagnant. We have MDA, one of the most stubborn coaches out there.
