It was pretty much known Reed wasn't as unathletic as people on here were saying. I still don't know how that "rumor" was started, but I always saw it here on the forums. Hell, his dad was athletic as hell. My issue with Reed is he came in as expected on the height, unfortunately. Dillingham came in even lighter than I expected. Dude is a stick.

Would love to trade #3 to N.O for Trey Murphy and their #17 pick. And draft Kel'el Ware at #17.

Murphy is a good shooter off the bench, plus he plays good defense

Sheppard fits so many team needs. In this draft, picking him at 3 is a good move. A potential sharp
Shooter with athleticism to be a pesky defender is worth it in todays nba.

Forget the 17. I'd trade #3 and another 1st for Murphy. That guy is one of the biggest sleepers in the league.

Atlanta won't pick him. All we have to worry about is Washington, one of the more incompetent organizations in the league. Hopefully they blindly follow trends like picking another mixed race French guy or a Serbian named Nikola.

    Rockets always go BPA
I have a feeling if we do stay at 3 it would be Risacher

I don't think Atlanta passes on Sarr. He's also looked good at the combine fwiw.

Our only concern should be Washington. Tyus Jones is a FA this summer and if he doesn't resign, they will have a bit of a hole to fill at the guard position. They were so bad this season though, so they have to draft for potential and upside and take BPA. I think they end up going with the higher ceiling guy in Topic. They are the Wizards though, so there's some unpredictability to account for.

I love Reed but don't think he's close to BPA at 2 or 3. He just fits too perfectly onto our team which is why I'm ok with him at #3.

Sengun was as bust-proof as it got, an MVP of a serious grown man's league at 18. Ricky Rubio and Luka Doncic are the only ones to match the feat.

Reed hopefully continues the trend of freshman Kentucky guards panning out alongside John Calipari having no idea how to use the talent he has (remember how KAT was used as a rim protector when he was one of the most offensively gifted bigs this century?)

Yikes. His stock just took a hit. Not to mention if he'll be replaced by someone like Sheppard by Washington.

Why does everyone keep bringing up Kentucky guards having great pedigree like we didn't draft Ty Ty Washington?

Pretty doubtful Washington would take Sheppard -- they are us in 2021. They want to take high ceiling swings at guys who can be a primary and are OK with long developmental pathways and guys who won't contribute to winning for a long time.

A player whose high-end projection is an off ball efficient supporting piece is not what they are looking for at all.

Hope Topic's injury isn't serious, he's tailor made for Washington.

For all the "Reed Sheppard isn't the BPA" at #3, can you answer who is?

I completely agree that in other drafts, there is no way Sheppard is BPA at #3 or even close to it. But the more you look into this draft and look into each prospect closely, I can honestly say there is not one player outside of Sarr that you can claim is definitively better than Sheppard, it is just truly that weak a draft.

Is Reed another Payton Prichard or is he on a whole other level?

Can't win 'em all. Ty Ty at 29 wasn't that bad considering only 2-3 NBA players went after him.

Ty Ty's problem was that he simply wasn't an NBA athlete. If the best shot you can get off against NBA defenders is a floater, you aren't going to make it.

If Reed pans out we can let FVV walk about this year and his opt in year and have a 40m expiring to bring in talent.

We don't need Capella any longer with Sengun, Adams and Landale, we are set at center.

Sheppard's ceiling is at worst a decent secondary ball handler who can be trusted to playmake for others alongside Amen and Sengun in that respect. His on ball offense is the big question mark, and my only reservation with him.
